:stupid: mine are cut right after the mufflers. Sounds awesome!!! plus mine is an LX and i hate the tailpipes coming out from the back.(kills the sleeper look i have!!!)

I have short tube headers, an offroad h pipe and 3 chamber flows on my 86. I bought a panhard bar from Griggs and had to chop my tails off, which I did not want to do. So I havd to dump my 3 chamber flows, and it sounds better than when I had tails. But I only put on maybe 1000 miles a year so I can deal with it being louder. I don't mind. Daily driver, I would say no.

Spintech sportsmans dumped off long tubes and a D-pipe. Incredible sound! I like it much more than i did my 40 series long tube/off road h combo.

Every dumped muff will drone, my combo drones at about 16-1700 rpm...other than that its actually pretty quiet inside. Thats on a 95 though....

my flows don't drone as much w/ dumps. I thougt it was worse when I had the tails on it.

I agree. I have fms shorties, O/R H pipe, and 2 chamber flows dumped and its the loudest at like 1300 and they dont drone at all they just shake the car a bit. Mine are pointed almost straight at the ground....so it shakes pretty hard...I think im going to angle em out a lot more.

I had my made at my race shop. Ran BBK full lengths, into BBK H-pipe. We took 2 2-chamber flowmasters, mounted flow tubes (flange ended short pipes required for hooking up to the H-pipe) then into the flow masters then dumped. No Cats. At first the sound was not as aggressive as i had hoped, but after a couple hunded miles the mufflers opened up and she sounds mean!
-Word of advice, since i'm running a convertible, i'm constantly sucking in exhaust at stop lights.....totally worth it IMO.

I have stock headers and a prochamber on my 90 LX 5.0 and, of course, 2 chamber flows...cut the tail pipes off to get new ones welded on and haven't gotten them welded on in over a month or two I'd say, so it jus cuts off after the mufflers. It's loud...sounds pretty good, but kinda does get annoying. It makes the stereo kidna hard to hear...I normally had mine on 55-58 before, and now I catch myself turning it up to 65-69 just to decently hear it when going down the highway.

When I drive it, I set off car alarms every day in the parking lot at school. Last week, I drove in and within 30 sec, I had set off two car alarms because of the loudness vibrates the ground and/or cars and triggers the shock sensor...just beeps a few times, not a full alarm.

If you live in a residential area, your neighbors will hate you, especially if drive the car during normal sleeping hours.

Basically, sounds cool and is fun for a little bit, but I'm anxious to get my tailpipes put back on.

To each his own though
