Hey guys, Ive been contemplating swapping in a T5 into my 94 AOD-E GT Convertible. I have a possible good deal on one out of a foxbody..are they fully compatible? What issues may I run into, and what extra parts would I need? Thanks a lot guys:nice:

If you get one out of a fox you will need the fox bellhousing, and maybe the clutch fork (not 100% sure on this, know you need it for tko and such swaps). Also you will need a driveshaft spacer.

The reason is the input shaft on the 94-95 is longer than the fox, so the bell is longer and the trans. sits ever so slightly further rearward. If the fox is used then those things just move forward alittle.

I have heard that sometimes the fox shifters become alittle too far forward and can seem to hit the shifter hole or need triming...but I have also heard it is not an issue at all.

Ok, that's what I was wondering, it would make sense that a 87-93 tranny would work if you use the 87-93 bellhousing. The hardest part about the swap I found is the pedal assembly (never been under a 94-95 dash) so it could be harder or easier lol... Other then that it's a matter of taking the auto out and then its like doing a clutch job on a manual. I can hook you up with a stock t-5 Driveshaft, 5.0 flywheel, starter plate, and crossmember also. You'll need to get a pedal assembly and clutch cable, and best bet would be to get a new clutch.. I got a used stock one I can give ya.. lol

yes you would need the bellhousing and drive shaft spacer. The input shaft is already part of the t-5, its the shaft that comes out of the front of the t-5.

Like I said I am not 100% sure about the clutch fork but I would pick that up as well to be safe.

If a fox tranny and bellhousing is used, couldn't you just use a fox driveshaft then??

you could also just swap the imput shafts

its not too hard to do if your mechanically inclined

if yuo can change u/l intake i think you could tackle this, its more time consuming then anything

you can reuse your stock driveshaft and trans crossmember. the shifter hole needs to be trimmed about an inch in the front

you will need: pedals, ECU, clutch cable, pilot bearing, flywheel, bellhousing, clutch kit, clutch fork, trans

if you do a search here im sure you can find a ton of good info on the swap

i just did my aode to tko-500 swap last week. when you do the clutch pedal assembly TAKE THE DRIVER SEAT OUT no if ands or buts! to me getting that in there was the hardest part of the swap, but i aslo had tto rip out an old getto alarm system.
