Last night we painted the car in Rangoon Red Laquer. Today I color sanded all day long, and we started buffing it out. This is where we are at now. After it is put all back together we are spraying 2 or 3 more top coats of laquer and then 3 or 4 coats of clear urethane. This paint job is awesome!! The painter was ragging on my old rusty Chrome Reverse paint rims, so I came back home and got my Cragars and bolted them on. More pics to come as we progress:D

Last night we washed it down and scuffed the shine off with a Scotch Brite pad and took the Cragars back off. Today we wiped it down and sprayed 3 fresh top coats of laquer, then 3 coats of PPG Urethane clear. It is even shinier than just the buffed out laquer, and we haven't buffed it. Tomorrow we will color sand it and buff it all out and start putting some little stuff back on, get some emblems at least! It will be home for Thanksgiving, then I got to figure out how to put all the windows back in. The interior is done, just got to put it back in, but I worry about all those windows!

Thanks for the kind words, after all the time it has been down it is finally coming together even better than I expected!!

Fnished color sanding last night, supposed to be finished buffing tonight. Still plan to bring it home Wednesday night. Will post pics after we get some bumpers and emblems on it. Lots of work to do, all the windows and interior are out. I just hope I rememberr how to put those windows back in the doors and quarters...

I use www.photobucket.com. It lets you set up an album for free. Search your computer for the pic and submit. Then when you want to post, I usually pull up photobucket on a separate window, start the post, right click on the link and select copy, then back to the post richt click and select paste. I always preview the post to make sure I did it right.

BTW, last night I left with the car about half buffed. He is finishing today while I am at work and I bring it home tonight!! Pictures to come when I get it cleaned up!

Hello there my Friend.

Nice to see you found the site. Awesome progress on the 65. Project of love and pain. It will be beautiful when it is done.

I remember the "before" pics... You have done a lot of work and should be proud!

Thanks Jennifer :) Newer pics on http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=597365

Still working on putting it back together but it is home in my garage and I can work on it when I want to, not just when I can get out to the shop. When I get it done I am going to cruise Route 66 out to California, then go up north and pick you up and take you for a ride :)
