Roush Value of a '98 Saleen Cobra?

I owned 98-142 which was a laser red convertible. The car was in mint condition and it took me about 4 months to sell. Mine had 20k miles on it. Alot of the guys who bought there when I was selling mine I thought they overpaid because they didn't realize how soft the market was. The problem with the cobra was for the same money you could get a new body stlye 99-up i mean factory supercharged for same money. I know the cobra is rare and trust me i loved the car but when i went to sell it no many people really cared for what it really was. The guy in Denamrk who just paid 30k plus in my opnion got killed on the car. He can afford it obviously and wanted it so good for him, but he will not get anywhere near that for resale. Alot of you know I have been in the market for a S351 for about 6 months but these owners just don't realize the cars are depreciating fast. I refuse to pay the prices they want so I will just wait.

That would be awesome to find out, if somebody does end up finding out I think that they should post it. Mines black and only has 7900miles on it, granted i'm going to start driving it alot more, which brings me to my next question, is it bad to drive this car as a everyday driver?? Granted gas and all, but I'm just curious..

None of my local book stores has the Saleen book...does it show which ones are cobras?

I don't know right now I don't have my car it is in Arizona getting paint and some other suspension mods and motor mods done to it, but when I get it back I will certianly find out. It makes me wonder cause liz says that there was only 1 Black on Black coupe made in 98. I'm gunna find out I'll shoot the guy an email and find out the numbers.. Thanks for input as far as driving it more..

The white s351 I called and was sold. He said he sold it over one year ago for 27k. That seemed like a fair price, that would definitely be a price I would pay, seems alot more realistic then some other ones I have seen.

2 of the white 98 Cobras have been wrecked. The one mentioned above plus another one that was totalled and parted out in the Orlando, Florida area about a year ago. The white salvage car mentioned, the owner paid $5500 for it before fixing it if I remember correctly.

i do have the yellow on yellow saleen cobra i'am 1 out of 5 guys. i have every option i think saleen could put on the cobra , magnesium wheels 18x10 rear wheels, rolebar in the back, recaro seats, & supercharger, 10psi, i believe horsepower over 500, i will dyno it today. these are rare cars, & i am thinking of selling it, its nice to see the good info i get here.

Where do you live? Your car sounds cool. It's one of the few I have ran across that has the saleen seats, seems that most have the regular cobra seats.

As an update to all I decided to try and find the other red car, so I searched and searched and I did find it. It's in Dallas, only about 4 1/2 hours from me. I've talked to the owner a couple times. His also came with magnesium wheels, saleen hood, and rollbar. His has the stock cobra seats. He's added a supercharger and gauge pod, and had the motor replaced under warranty several years ago.

I need a set of rims for my car due to an unfriendly curb...anyone have any leads?

it does seam the car is a rare one, i did get it on the dyno today, (speed dreams dyno) with no tune & the fuel ratio under 10 ( off the scale ) till 6,800 rpm were it went 11.07, it did 500rwhp, really strong, with a tune there should be another 40-60 rwhp there, but like i say i'am selling it., by the way i also have a friend who owned a 97 black s-351, and his fiance had a 98 cobra saleen speedster supercharged that would outrun his s-351, both cars are fast, but i prefer the cobra saleen over a s-351.

I'm with you on that one toxic.. You car sounds like it's fast.. Those are around the numbers that I have on my car and I have a very sh**y tune. My car went a little quicker in the 1/4 but the power is the same.. I'll let you know the numbers when i get my car back from having a custom tune installed... Also with the 351 cars I agree with you I raced one around where I live and no doubt they are fast but mine was still faster...

yours does make more trq than mine, but the power is the same, the only mods done to mine is longtube headers & larger throttle body, still have the stock cats on it.
