November 2005 Mustang Sales Decrease

Well I don't care to start an argument but martimus you are just flat out wrong. If anyone is brainwashed it is yourself. Just so you know, the unemployment rate right now is at 5% which is at one of its lowest points in history. Of course, that rate doesn't show the full picture but for the most part it is a good indicator of the availabilty of jobs. Some industries such as areospace may not have as many jobs but yes their are plenty of jobs for those who are willing. Most of the ones I see (I was looking for a new one recently) all require some sort of degree or experience so you must just live in a small area if all you see is fast food jobs. I think that, like was mentioned, the markups and availability is what has hurt mustang sales. Not too mention the devastating hurricanes and the rising gas prices we had right before and after.

Open your eyes dude... and stop believing the rhetoric being fed to you! Our economy is barely holding ground and is mostly doing so because, as you mention, other nations are keeping us afloat. If, on the other hand, we continue spending at the current pace even China won't be able to finance us. Ya know... you can only balance an elephant on a 2x4 for a short while before the 2x4 breaks.

Lots of jobs???? :bs: What exactly have you been smoking... and how do I get some!! Yea there are lots of jobs... many where the requisite phrase to learn is "You want fries with that". This used to be the greatest manufacturing nation on the planet. Unfortunately manufacturing jobs are disappearing quicker than they're created. Why? Cuz nations like China can provide the labor at pennies on the dollar.

This nation used to be a technological giant amongst nations. Now an ever increasing percentage of those jobs go to people in India and the far east. So whats left? Working the counter at the Quickie Mart or selling Grand Slam breakfasts at Denny's??? :rlaugh:

The bottom line is that Mustang sales are decreasing as are Ford sales as are GM sales as are Chrysler sales as are many of the Japanese car manufacturers. "Employee Pricing" may have cleared out the car manufacturers holding lots but it did them no favors. They sold the cars for less than it was costing them to manufacture them... and drove used car prices into the dirt. It'll take several years to recover, if they recover.
My eyes ARE open DUDE! I don't listen to anything the government recommends, never have, never will. You've obviously been a diehard liberal Democrat to spout the crap you have. Yea, there's some "want fries with that" jobs there ( :D down in 'Nawlins, they're offering those jobs and they're paying $10 an hour too) There's more jobs down here than people that want them. Get out from under your rock and quit listening to Michael Moore and the rest of the Democrats and open your eyes.:nice:

THANK YOU D.Hearne!!! If these damn libs stopped having sex for a minute and looked around maybe they'd learn something. What happened to our jobs? I'll tell you. During Blow Job Clinton's era as prez most of our jobs were out sourced to China, Japan, India, germany, etc etc.

In terms of how we used to be technological giants. Guess what. We had the BEST freakin cars ever made anywhere until the screw up 60s. Then the libs complained our cars were evil. So we had to lower ourself to make cheap crap and put up with a million restrictions put on our cars. It's amazing any of our cars could hit 100 mph. After WWII Japan focused all their efforts to technology, since they could do anything millitary wise, and since our democratic leaders kept up down they exceled way beyond us.

Ok. Now you can continue having sex.

Good Day.

I was told that the GT-manual trans cars are only allocated for 16% of production, I wonder why?

The 1st thing everyoneasks me is if my car is a 5 speed (manual). Most everyone I know with a Mustang has a stick and wouldn't have it any other way. The Manual cars seem to jump off the lots too. I wonder why Ford would do this:scratch:

Be it because of CAFE standards or something else, it's unfortunate for Ford - and those of us interested in buying a Mustang GT - that they are able to produce so few GT's. And of those produced, such a small percentage seem to have the MT that it's a sin! You would think that between the appearance of the car and the horsepower, Ford would have known there would have been significant demand for manual transmissions.

I love the car, but with each passing month with no GT's available, I look around more and more at alternative vehicles. I'm sure I'm not alone.

I was told that the GT-manual trans cars are only allocated for 16% of production, I wonder why? The 5 speed auto is built in France:notnice: If it weren't for that fact, I'd have seriously considered one, but it being a new design and built by a bunch of whiney Frenchmen, gave it a double whammy.crapola In addition, it's a $995 option, plus I've also got a freind who's a die hard Ford guy, stock car racer, engine builder and happens to work in a trans shop who's told me that they've already worked on a few of the 5 speed autos kept me away from the auto's. Some one in management needs to procure more Tremecs to increase the manual car production. All in all, sounds like someone at Ford made a nice deal with the French, that's ended up costing them sales. :flag:

Lets get a couple things correct:

1. The build allocation of GT manuals is low because Tremec can't supply any more T3650 trannies.

2. The 5R55S (5 speed auto trannie) was designed here in the US by Ford.
Many of the internals parts are made in France, in a Ford plant, which is why the country of orgin is France. However the 5R55s trannies are assembled here in the US in Marysville (SP?) Ohio as well as France.

3. The 5R55S is not a new design. The 5R55N dates back to 1999. The 5R55S version which shares many parts with the 5R55S was introduced in some 2003 models in the fall of 2002.

I think you need to look at gloabal sales of other products and cars.

Many retailers are having a hard time at present. They blame the issues in the Golf and other parts of the world along with the hurricanes and earthquakes that have occurred recently.

However dropping sales in the GT is a GOOD thing.

As Ford will need to try and stimulate reknewed interest. They will do this by bringing out new variants (Boss/GT350/etc.) and other specail packages and offers.

These people are drinking the kool-aid of the democratic party and loving every moment of it. Our economy is doing VERY well, there are TONS of jobs that do not require you to say "you want fries with that?"

The problem is that you need to GO GET A DEGREE! I am sorry but it's true now and days, we are NOW IN A WORLD ECONOMY and guess what that means??? The labor jobs are going to move out of our country to a cheaper workforce....sorry...welcome to the real world, no Democrat OR Republican can bring back what we use to have. Sorry...

Thank You rage1605 for your right on the money comments.
You should give sex a try, it's not so bad! Maybe you'd be less bitter at the world. Don't worry, I'm sure there are some women out there who'll settle for a v6 auto type of guy. Not everybody can be a Black GT Manual Red Leather type. :Teh-Win: :rlaugh:

Anyone who claims to know what's going on with the economy or tries to lay blame with one administration or another is an idiot (ever notice how if the economy appears to be going well, the people in office will take credit, but when it is doing poorly they blame the actions of the previous administration?). I have many good friends and relatives who are economists and they don't even pretend to know what the hell is going on half the time. Simply regurgitating half-truths from talk radio does not make anyone seem intelligent. But most people who know anything would probably agree that HUGE national dept is not a great sign. And loss of manufacturing impacts everyone from white collar to service industry.

As to MUSTANG SALES--the original thread is about 2005 NOVEMBER SALES and compares 2005 NOVEMBER SALES to NOVEMEBER SALES OF OTHER YEARS. How this is lost on anyone is beyond me.

It seems to me that consumer confidence, not the state of the "economy," is what drives sales. Consumer confidence numbers right now are pretty good (the "good" or "bad" economy notwithstanding), but Mustang sales are not that great. As some have pointed out, this has a lot to do with Ford. It might also have something to do with gas prices or other factors. But from hanging out here the last few years I know that in many cases purchases of Mustangs are not always based on sound financial decision making.
