What makes you think "bigger is better"?

How do you feel about "bottoming out" every time you run over a pavement joint? If looking "kewl" is important, go for it! Seems like thoses tires would be better suited to my F-250 4X4.

.4 of an inch taller than stock '64 tires and 3.5 wider. Those would look kewl on a 4x4 truck. Skewl us on why they would bottom out.

who says its gonna bottom out??If your running those on your 4X4, that would look great:rolleyes:

You probably like the 215/70/14's huh?:)

Actually......

I'm running 265X65-16's on my F-250 4X4 and they're great. Anytime you push the design parameters, you'll compromise the handling of the vehicle. Of course you can always jack it up to accomodate more tire if you think that's the way you want to go. You'll sacrfice SOMETHING in the process.

Large tires will only make existing suspension/steering problems worse.

well dang....cant make the p-nut gallery happy!

I just upgraded to 15x7 rims and really didnt know what I could and couldnt do.
I am having all sorts of traction problems. I have not had any bottoming out problems
(pretty limited driving, but did go over some of those big/wide type speedbumps
yesterday). This will even improve with the springs replaced...I have the original
springs still on there, but intend on going with one of the stiffer sets in the
near future. And who said I have suspension problems?

Whats up dave, why you gotta hate!

Don't worry about him he just has size envy.

how much room do you have between your tire and spring? Have you taken them off again to see if there is any rubbing issues with your inner fender. They are a small tire for the rear, as for the front I'm not sure.

265/65/16 is about 5" taller than the tire in question. No comparison IMO. Putting bigger/better tires on a Mustang is nothing new. Mr. Shelby was doing it before I was born (1966). More traction will not cause a car to perform worse. It will make "problems" more visible though.

265/65-16=29.6"
265/50-15=25.4"

Now that being said, I am not so sure about the rears being too big to look right. I am looking at the fronts and thinking they may need to be bigger.

No rubbing so far, but i have not driven them much. I am still debating going back and swapping some stuff around.
