4.6 2v intake manifold extended coverage !!!

F***!!! wat is goin on! i spent 2 and half hours today waiting for someone to tell me that id have to wait to see if the rembursment was valid. Everyone there didnt know what i was talkin about or thought that i was trying scam them even though i had all the documentation proving that it was legit. i left after they told me that id had to wait for tomorrow for the service writer. im pissed. let me know if anyone was successfull in getting their check without going through 100 people.

Its possibly too new for any of the dealers to know what is going on. All they would have to do is read FSA 05N04, the cars that are affected are identified in their oasis report. Ford even has phone numbers listed for them to call if they need more info on how it works.
I work at a dealership and have probably replaced close to 40 4.6 sohc manifolds and I have yet to see anyone bring their car or receit in for the recall.

Alright guys I have succeeded. went to the first dealership this morning at 9am and they told me it would be about a 2 hour wait. after about 45 min they called me and told me my car was past the 7 year cutoff. I explained to them that the 7 years applies to the beginning of the proposed settlement. he would not listen to me, even after I tried to scare him by telling him I was going to call the law office who proposed the settlement, he still wouldn't buy in. so not giving up hope I continued to the next dealership on my list. I had to school the guy in there about what was going on, because he had no idea. I told him to check the ford-dealer web site, and after about 30 min of a confused look on his face, he went and talked to the service manager. he came back and told me he got everything cleared up, but it would take about 4 hours before they could inspect my car. the inspection consisted of a check of the serial # on the crossover tube, and a check for leaks. after that they had to write up a service report, and attach it to the signed notice of proposed settlement paper I had. 4 1/2 hours later he said I should receive my check by mail, but he said knowing ford it will probably take them a long time. so now all the hard work is done, and all I have to do is wait for my $735 check in the mail :D

p.s. the dealership was colley ford in glendora,ca if anyone lives in the area, and is having problems with there local dealership, go in there and talk to jim kirkpatrick

Damn. Thanks guys for breaking the ice out there. I have a company car ordered though a local Ford dealer that is supposed to arrive in the next month or so. My plan is to talk to them about the reimbursement just when I'm about to pick up the new car. I hope they are well versed in this by the time I bring it my stang to have "inspected". No reciepts here.

Hey crazynorwegian, did they put yur car on a lift? I got longtubes and i dont wanna be tried for murder for having LTs in cali.

They dont need to put the car on the lift, the serial numbers they need to read are on the top of the intake manifold on the crossover tube. plus I have not yet been to a dealership here in cali that has said anything about my o/r pipe. I think you are safe. If they do say something about it tell them you are part of a message board that serves to 80 thousand ford customers, and if they give you lip about your lt's then you will tell every one of them. that should scare them into giving you a warning

I take it if you dont have a receipt for the work you have to have an OEM intake, not an after-market OEM quality intake?

I went to the dealership today and submitted my receipt. The guy I talked to said they didnt pay out to people with aftermarket intakes. After he called the recall hotline, he took my receipt and said I should expect something within 2-3 weeks.... So I guess that means I will be getting the check for 220 bux, which is something, but I think they could have paid for my labor..... damn butt holes!

I just got off the phone with my local dealer. My car is a 98 and I don't have a receipt. He said it is past the 7 year mark so there is no reimbursement. He said the 7 year term starts at the start date of the initial warranty. My warranty start date was Mar 31, 98. So it expired Mar 31, 05. He said he called Ford to verify. Am I screwed?

Thanks for the reply. I did the work myself. I have the parts receipt, but even that is dated past the 7 year mark b/c I just did it over the summer. I was hoping to get the $735 if I walked in without a receipt. Looks like I'm gonna have to find a receipt. :D

I replaced mine myself and paid $200 for the new manifold (with aluminum runner). I doubt I'll get any money back for my trouble but if the class action suit returns some money to me, great. If not, I'll deal with a $200 and day's work loss instead of leaving my car at Ford. It's just not worth it.

Just went into ford to get my rembursment submitted and guess what.......they took it!!!!!and it wasnt even that hard. it took a total of 15 minutes! no one hasseld me or argued with me. they wrote down the vin number and manifold number and took my name and address. they told me it was gonna be about 2-3 weeks and they would send me a check for 732 bucks!!nice!!

If any one is in northern california neer sacramento i suggest you go to Harold Ford on Howe ave.
