im still in a hard debate with myself as to the combo which ill go with.

the problem is we have aircare here and its about as strict as cali-smog so its tough to pass.

i want VT stg. 1 cams, shorty headers and a catted midpipe as id hate to keep swapping.

Questions:

1) in an otherwise stock Bullitt, would stg. 1 cams alone still pass?
2) in an otherwise stock Bullitt, would headers and a catted mid still pass?
3) if i combined everything (cams, headers, mids) could i pass?

im just weary of aftermarket catted mids as i used to have 1 for my RX-7 (which ran perfectly) and it kept failing. this mid was made in cali for cali-smog yet it didnt work. i put my old pipes back on and passed with flying colours.

input please.

I'm no pro on this (since I don't have to pass anything :D), but my guess would be that you could do cams and pass since they won't visually see you have different cams. They may only hear a lope, but if your stock exhaust is there they shouldn't say a thing. And your change in engine performance shouldn't show up. Just my guesses.

visually, its only minor - they check to see if you have cats. performance of the cars doesn't matter as long as it passes.

i need something that WILL pass, whether its cams only, midpipe only or, if possible, both.

i just dont want to spend thousands of dollars to end up not passing.
