Steeda Vs. SLP pulleys

I have decided to see for myself what under drive pulleys are actually worth HP wise on the dyno. I know that Steeda is pretty much the go to guys for pulleys but I am wondering if anyone has used the SLPs. Is anyone aware of any differences in the Steedas and SLPs?

the SLPs are only $10 cheaper, but if you order through partshopper here and use the discount, plus free ground shipping, they come out to be cheaper...which is why i got the steedas, they were a breeze to install and felt a nice torque gain..dunno about power, but it seemed to help a little...

SLP's a pretty reputable brand in the GM world, and their exhaust products for the 4.6 are top notch quality and provide nice power gains, so it's probably safe to say their U/D pullies are comparable to Steeda's. i know i saw at least one guy on SN with "SLP U/D Pullies" in his sig.

I think they are the same, too bad i won't be getting a set of either. I'm too worried about my rpm's dropping. When i turn on my AC or defroster my rpm's already drop. They even drop if i'm parked and push the button to put my windows up/down. Also, when the rpm's drop REAL low like when i quickly turn the window defroster on, i hear a kind of rotating clicking type noise. Should i be saving for a new alternator becuase thats what it seems like:shrug:

Go with the original.

Steeda > SLP :puke: SLP exhaust sounds awful btw.
your generalizing an entire brand because of 1 type of resonator they make, which happens to be the most popular among new stang owners who want "the loudest exhaust".

i've been through it. if you wanna bash the LMI's go ahead, they dont sound to good with most aftermarket mid-pipe (great with the stock H though). but the II's and Powerflo's sound a lot better. i had another 02 GT owner confuse my II's with stingers, and everyone around here nuts when you even say the word........"Stingers."

i'm only rebutting what you said because new people reading the forums see something like that and automatically write off SLP, im not trying to argue. they make great stuff, but not all of its for everyone.

as far as pullies go, i find it hard to believe either brand is much different than the other, or that either would yeild any better performance.

Exhaust sounds are a matter of personal preference. I happen to think the best sounding exhaust combination is offroad H-Pipe and 2 Chamber Flowmasters or Off Road Prochamber and 2 Chamber Flowmasters. To me these combinations remind me of the old 5.0 days. Seems like the younger stangers prefer the raspy sound of Xpipes and SLP stuff. :puke: :notnice:

As far as pullies, Steeda makes the most popular UDPs for our cars and they work with the Steeda Timing adjuster. I went with Steeda for this reason.

Off topic but Flowmasters belond on 5.0's. It's yesteryears sound. They also rob hp. over straight through exhausts. X pipes out perform H pipes. Dyno proven!

Everytime I hear the sound of Flowmasters near my house, sure enough it's a kid in a beat up old 5.0L Mustang.

I have gone with March pulleys on other projects and they worked fine. I do have some slight concerns about the longevity of the hard anodizing so I sort of decided against them for this particular application.
No No i wasn't suggesting March, I was playing with someone who posted above. I have Steeda myself..but remember when March was all you could get. I didn't like them then and can't suggest them now.
