Hah so I tried snowboarding for the first time last week. By the end of the day I was getting the hang of it, in the beginning lets just say I was falling not boarding. It's fun. I used to ski only, I was a pretty good skiier, but snowboarding is a whole different ball game. Its hard. I went back yesterday and really thought I did well. Tearin up the blue squares haha.
Heres a video of me and my friend goin back to the lodge. Yes I did drop my phone. :) It's insured.

I've been snowboarding since I was 8 and I've been an instructor for 4 years. I love doing it.. it's so much more fun that skiing. Just stick with it and you'll get the hang of it.. I never took a real lesson, but now that i'm an instructor i look back and wish I had.. I really suggest it. Just remember that you control the board by how much pressure you put on your toes and heels, not by controling it with the rear foot..

Good luck :)

I used to snowboard, but switched back to skiing. Snowboarding lefts its inprint on me tho, and i pretty much stick to the parks. I can go down any hill pretty much as fast as I want too, and its just not fun for me any more. Rails however, take alot of practice to get right. I busted my butt a few times on monday when i went to Mountain Creek.
Any other freestyle (twin tip) skiers out there??

Been going for years (about 6-8) now. LOVE IT. So far I have been to Breck., Copper, Keystone, Vail, Beaver Creek, Steamboat, park city, Snow Bird, and Canyons. Been to all many times execpt the last 4 I have only been to once. Tring to get to Breck. in the next 2-3 months for a trip.

I realy am not into the "park" area's love back country, trees, and of course POWDER is were its at.

right now I have a nale(nail) board and k2 bindings/boots. The board is getting fairly old and am looking to get a new one after this year...been looking at ride, and sims but wanting to stay away from burton for the whole diff bolt patt. thing.

sad side note
One of the guys that wants to go with this year was in a head on accident last week and messed up his hand, he was a pass. in a F250 or 350 and hit a s10, thankfully he is ok but he may not be "clear" to go by then. driver of the other car was suspended, no ins., had 6 arrests for DWI-why her lic. was susp.- and 3-4 other cars pulled over to be witnesses and attest as to the fact the lady was driving "out of control, cutting people off, and swerving in and out of traffic" this driver didnt even get a ticket...way to go POLICE:notnice:

sorry for the rant...

Anyone else here run those riser plates? they go under your bindings and raise up the bindinga bit, also make the board STIFF. Two of my buds put them on, one on a burton-atlantis board and one on a marrow(sp?), and his other board that we dont know what brand it is.

The last time we were all out together, people were asking us about them, no one had used/seen them and we were all kinda wondering others oppins' on them.

Been skiing for 18 years, and I raced in high school and for a season in college. My "daily driver" is a set of Salomon Street Racers and I also own a pair of 1080s with twin tips. I don't really do the park thing anymore but once and a while I get the urge.

I tried snowboarding for 3 days over a long weekend in highschool and I just didn't like it. My favorite thing about skiing is going fast and you just can't go as fast on a snowboard as you can on skiis.
