Hey guys Im still gutting my 92 limited edition convertible since it was flooded by Katrina. Im having a problem... the last bottom piece to the center console which has 2 screws on each side up by the dash.. 1 on the right came right out and the remaining 3 dont want to budge.... starting to strip out the philips head screws. I tried spraying rust penetrant on the back side of the screws and thats not helping. I really dont want to break the console... Any ideas? Im about to start attempting to grind the heads off with a dremel tool but first i wanna see if any of you have had this problem. thankss!!

I remember the hardest thing was getting to them straight on, and being able to grasp and turn the screwdriver.

For screws like this, I use a hand held impact driver. Sometimes the bigger handle gets them, sometimes I have to actually use the hammer.

Well the car is gutted so I can get to them straight on..... Im thinking maybe Ill use my dremel tool and cut a line in it to make it a flat head.... hmmm we shall see tomorrow... you all think this cars even worth restoring?? I am finding all the rust that i can and spraying convertor and sanding it off.... any more ideas?? thanks again
