how it handles in the snow is a small portion of the equation. most of it ss the driver and knowing what the car is capable of and what it is NOT. the S197 has better weight distribution than the 01, so it should be better off. for most people, it is not getting around in the snow, but avoiding the SALT that eats their car. ther is also the other poor drivers out there that think it is ok to go 65 mph in 6" of snow that we want to watch out for. :Damnit:

Very true. What I did in my area was find a car wash that offered a yearly plan. Essentially, I get one wash a week for a year and pay about half of what I would spend otherwise. That way I get the salt off the car during the winter. Of course it took me forever to find a place that did not use any form of brushes and I also looked at the cloths they use to dry the cars....swirl marks just drive me crazy.

put mine away on Nov 1st and it wont come out till April 01/06--have only 9k on it and will have owned it for a year by then.
The 96 taurus is carrying the load for the winter.
Hope the taurus lasts for another couple of years---best car i've driven in the snow--great control and balance when driving in snow.

glad to keep that damn salt off the mustang too--
:canada:

Mine is headed for the doctor's next week to get the bottom end built and a PowerHouse turbo put on her.

Last year I put a set of snow tires on her and she behaved rather well in the snow. We don't get a lot of snow in Louisville but when we do it gets ugly fast.

It would be a good idea, if possible. Was talking to this guy at work who had hurt his arm trying to push this girls car out of the road. She had lost control on an icy bridge and rammed the front into the side of the bridge. As he was trying to help, another car came along and hit the rear end of her new Mustang she'd just bought about a week before. It spun the car into another car, besides knocking this guy I was talking to further down the bridge. Poor Mustang! :p Okay, poor guy, too!

My car doesn't go out when it's wet, rain or snow. I'm in Virginia, so we don't get much snow anyway. Once it does snow, I don't drive it until a couple of rains, so as to rinse away the road salt. Basically the same rules as for my Harley. 90% of my miles are in an '03 Exploder.

I do that on the beamer, and probably would if I had a stang too (no snow/salt) :)

We don't get much snow in Cincinnati but there are a few days I'd probably take the truck instead :)

And uhh whats T-Lok?
