Duraspark Dis. and Hi-6

Call this a newbi question but i searched and all i found was about MSD.
I was wondering, when i switched over to carb. if the duraspark dis.
out of an 85GT could just be spliced into the Hi-6 as it will on an MSD box.

I don't think they make a harness, but I think it can be spliced. You might have to call crane. I think I recalled the diagram years ago, but I don't think they make a harness like MSD does.

id like to know the answer to this as well. Im planning on running the 85 5-speed dizzy with steel gear, and didnt want to have to do the duraspark if crane made a harness. i looked over the website, and couldnt find any decent info on it.

Edit, i dont know if this is what we need or not, but i did find this

See im wanting to convert to carb but i don't want to have to drop another $150 buck for an MSD box off of Ebay, i already have Hi-6 ignition so i was really hoping that i could use this, even if i have to splice. Im going to be running a Torker II intake with 670 Demon Carb. And i was just going to grab a Duraspark dizzy from the autoparts store....does anyone know if it will work with Crane Cams Ignition?

This probably won't be helpfull at all, but doesn't the Harness for the crane box just plug into the coil? It doesn't have anything to do with the distributor.

Assuming that the '85 distributor is hooked up like the original TFI one.

Hmmm, didn't think of it that way....Stupid me. Huh, see my friend is like a wiring gienius and im really wanting to learn alot about wiring. So the connection to the distributor is the only connection to the ignition that the EFI harness has to the ignition, right? So all i would have to do is, drop in the 85' dizzy and thats it? Am i missing something here...im confusing my self as i write this :(

Keeping the Duraspark rocks!! it is a little harder to set up the dist for max advance and when to get to max advance... but once it is set up... never any problems!! I twist mine to 7500 all the time on my 306 and 7000 on my BB... and they just keep on keeping on!! Have fun!

Just me..........................

Its been quite a while since I bought one but I think it was around $50, and as you know 85 is an oddball year for distributors, make certain you get the correct steel cam gear, dont trust that just because it says its for an 85 that its right, Ive seen a bunch with cast iron gears
