Do I want a 5 year plan to retirement, or do I want to live life to the fullest?

I can retire at age 50 and never work again.

To do that I have to stay in the house Im in, continue to invest, continue to save.

I dont like living in Arkansas. I want to live in Tucson or San Diego.

Im seriously considering quiting my job, selling the house and contents, hopping in the Stang and heading West.

When I get there, I would sell the 05 coupe, buy a 06 vert, and have a couple Margaritas.

Thats as far as Ive planned.

its more of a personal choice i guess. what kind of lifestyle would you have if you retired at 50? would you be SET FOR LIFE? as in dont have to worry about money no matter what? or will it just give you a decent amount of money for future use. what would working now and moving do to your future? will it just set you back a few years? you are gonna have to weigh all the pros and cons to see which you really want. why buy an 06 vert? the GT500 will be out soon. buy that!!!!

I would be pretty much set for life. House paid for and about 60k a year in retirement income with a cost of living raise every year.

The wife doesnt like it here but likes the financial security. When I die about 1/2 that income dies with me.

Another option is to stay here and buy or lease a small condo to live in 1/2 the year.

Mid-life Crisis or a case of the Winter Blues ........ its nice to have options.

All I can say is I've never regretted quitting a job. Do you have kids? If not, move and downsize and I bet you can have your cake and eat it to.
go post something in tech so you change that post count :rlaugh:

I gather from this post that this decision was not made for you already.
Did they give you a raise for improving the moral on the night shift? :nice:

Ha, the night sup stopped by for a chat with me.

Bottom line, they like me and want to keep me. They also like and want to keep Jim. Jim and I had a talk, we are trying to work better together. He is a dedicated employee, he just doesnt have alot of people skills.

Im trying to do my part and work with him.
