I wonder if getting one of the very early serial numbers, packing it away in plastic and then seeing what it's worth in 30 years...
If I had enough money, I might do that, and of course buy another one to drive the heck out of. :)

My names on a list, #3. How bout you. :D
:D Sorry, but it took me 6 months to get a stripped ( if you can call it that:rolleyes: ) Deluxe 06 GT with only the aluminum wheels as an option, so I figure that if I had 50 grand to spend (which I don't) for a GT500, I'd rather put it to better use, than wait ( I figure) about 3 years for a car.

This may be blasphemy here, but I'm also curious about the unveiling of the 'Camaro'. :D The more hot rods out there to choose from, the better!
I'm really excited about the Camaro too. But I'm sure GM will fail miserabably. They've got a lot of redeeming to do for the way they've jerked around Camaro fans. They seem hell bent on screwing up everything they do. Ford hit above and beyond perfection with the new mustang and the gt500 is going to be unreal I'm sure. The Camaro is going to have to be more than fast to make me look.

You're almost gauranteed on losing money if you do that. Even if you just put it in a low risk investment, the money will be worth much more in 30 years than that car, even if the car is one of the extremely, unbelievably rare cars which increases in real worth over a long time period. Better to use it for what it's meant to do, drive it. Even a new v8 mustang sells for what the best kept, most desirable classic mustangs will get you if you find the right buyer. The Cobra's from a few years ago aren't worth much because the new ones are so much better. In a few years these Shelby's won't be worth much because the new SVT or whatever will be so much better. The "collector Item" stuff that ford is trying to create around this car is just pure marketing BS, no more accurate than those collector plates they sell on the home shopping network with a limited edition picture of Dale Jr. on it.

I think you are probably right, it just sounds like fun, doesn't it?
Have a garage set aside, with cool lighting, maybe even some dramatic music tied into the light switch and reluctantly show it to people at parties... :)
Ahhh, to be rich... :)
