Love my 05 and had some things taken care of early on according to TSBs posted on this site. However, has anyone seen any TSBs related to ongoing rattles and vibrations in the dash? I kind of doubt it and I am assuming Ford is going to leave it up to the owners to deal with them or just learn to live with it but if they acknowledge the problem and are willing to fix it all the better.

This is my first post. but have been looking at these boards since prior to buying the car last july.. I have this same problem it comes from the driver side if i put little pressure it stops but i have to blair the radio to cover the annoying rattling sound up. YES i have this problem aswell

Mine rattles on the passenger side... one of my buddies told me he thought the sound was coming from where the dash and windshield met, kindof hard to pinpoint myself seeing how I'm never the passenger in the vehicle. Later

05 rattles

I have experienced the same noises from passenger side. This window area sounds like the ticket since it also goes away when pushed on. Will see what dealer has to say.

Taking my car toay with a list of 14 things...ouch. I wish Ford would step up, pay the techs the same for warranty work and let them replace the parts on the first or second go around. Some on my list are 4th attempts. With less than 9200 miles, it's a bit hard to swallow.

I do love the car, still smile while driving down the road. Makes it worth the while.

God Bless America

Indeed, this passenger side rattle is annoying!! I haven't worked much at figuring out exactly where it is, but it's "above the glovebox" as a general area...

I'd be most interested in what you learn from the dealership, too!

Is your rattle on at all times because I have a rattle on the passenger side too, but only whe I hit +3000 rpms?

My rattle is not there all the time---it seems to be a function of the temperature, the condition of the road, the speed of the engine, and the speed of the car. So---sometimes it's there, sometimes it's gone! This morning (about 42 deg. or so) it was really annoying as I was driving to work.

Mine rattles on the driver side all the time. Mainly when the there are any imperfections in the road. It squeaks and rattles like there is no tomorrow. It is starting to get annoying, especially since it's basically a brand new car.

It would appear many of us are suffering from the same condition...and I'd be willing to bet it's the same with the GT since the interior construction (as is most of the car of course) identical. The dash rattle seems to be coming from two places; the driver's side and the passenger. Light pressure on either side stops the rattle which, at least in my case, occurs variably according to temperature and road conditions. Clearly, there is a very, very small space that's there and it doesn't take much for the rattle to come and go. How difficult would it be to get under the dash and jam some foam rubber up in there?

The car is back and no major updates. Since the noises were intermitent, they could not figure out where they came from. They did not appear during the service drive, nor have they appeared since...go figure :)

New front brakes and the shaker 500 were replaced since I had the TSB's for those. The dash issue is attributed to possible weather conditions ie: cold/hot. I found that having the research prior and being VERY specific as to the location and type of noise help the writer explain the service request.

It seems the service received depends on the dealer and your own ability to explain the situation. I have gone to 2 dealers now and both have been accomodating and willing to see that the customer is happy.

It si the same with the GT. My passenger side dash rattle comes and goes with tempurature and road surface. It's driving me nuts - but turning up the radio solves it. LET ME KNOW WHERE TO JAM THE FOAM!

Dash rattle fixed under warranty

I had a dash rattle coming from the passenger airbag locale. I took it in and the dealer fixed it under warranty. There were some support members in the dash that they uninstalled and then reinstalled. Easy fix.
