I have recently installed Ford Racing shorty headers (coated) on my 05 GT and am having clearance problems with the lower steering column. I have the headers in but they rub the steering column on turning. Anyone else have this problem and find a solution??
Thanks for any help.

If I remember right there should be some old post about this issue, I know one of the remedies was to get the steeda motor mounts which don't allow the eng to move as much from side too side hence keeping the headers from contacting the steering colum. good luck.

Thanks, I saw some old postings about the steeda mounts related to JBA shorty's I think. And I did call the Ford Racing tech line, their only suggestion was to flip the lower column upside down, which i tried but was not a solution 'cause the thing wouldnt go back on that way.... round peg square hole... I will see if I can get any play out of the stock motor mounts otherwise try the steedas. Ford Racing did say they would take them back, but I figured I might have the same problem with others too. Thanks

For anyone interested, I got it squared away for now. I was able to loosen every darn bolt I could find and was able to get enough movement on the stock motor mounts to give myself some clearance. As long as the motor stays put I will be fine... so far so good.

Was it worth the trouble? Notice any gains?
