I have been away from stangnet for awhile but I just traded my torch red 05 GT auto for a blue (dont know exact color) 06 GT manual and it made me think of this board.

Now my two questions:

1) any difference's between tuning and modding 05's and my new 06?

2) Also what is the actual name of the bright blue color?

congrats, the 05 and the 06 are the basically the same. Just different options, but motor and tranny and the rest are the same. I think the color you are refering to is windveil blue, that is the lighter blue. Ive got the darker blue which is vista.

1. Should be no difference in tuning the 05's and 06's they are the same just 06's are newer. But they have the same engine and components to include the computer.
2. You got an 06 GT Blue but don't know its true color? Well I did a search on google for Ford Mustang GT 06 Color options and turned up Windveil Blue or Vista blue.

ok the car is vista blue, I knew but it just kinda slipped my mind when I made the first post.

I made the switch because my dealer made me a hell of a deal on my trade in and I get ford cars at D-plan so my payment actually went down from my high mileage 05 to a new 06.

There is a different computer code which comes into play when you get it tuned. I had to wait until a local shop bought the 06 codes before I could change out gears, etc. and get a custom tune.

A Plan is for Ford Employee's
D Plan is for Ford Dealer Employees
and X Plan is a friends and family type Discount.

X plans are fairly easy to get. I've seen a few boards where Ford employee's give them away. There are also orgranizations you can subscibe to that will give one Xplan per year. I've purchased all my Ford vehicles on X plan. Makes a huge difference on cars that are normally "marked up", if you can find a dealer to honor it.
