I have the day off today, so I may talk dad into helping me put some headers on the car today. Kinda rainy though (why I got the day off, work at a carwash) so I don't really want to drive it much but I will if I have to heat cycle the bolts. My headers are Mac unequal shorties, and I was probably going to put my new plugs and wires in while the headers are off. It came with some copper gaskets though, are they pos, or decent. I can go pick up soem Felpro 1415s if needed, I assume Advance would have them in stock. It also came with some bolts that I would probably use, would they cause trouble? Would it be worth investing in some better ones and using these as temporary? IIRC header gaskets can be reused right? Thanks!

I know a lot of people talk bad about Mac's products, but I have always used mac with good results. I always use there copper gaskets, I have not had any problems with them, but you also can not go wrong with fel-pro. I also used there header bolts, and I just make sure to check them a few times to make sure they are staying tight, but like 86bluecobra said, you could buy some with locks. Back when my 88 was stock, it took me a few hours working by my self to get them on. Its not a hard job. Good luck.

Still debating on doing them or not. The only concern that was brought up was that if I ring a bolt off on the headers, I doubt I'll be driving until I get that fixed since our Jeep is still down. I could get to school but I couldn't get a ride out of school since I leave earlier than anyone else I know of. Still debating on putting them on or not. If I don't do it tonight I'll probably purchase some locking bolts. The cars sitting in the garage with a fire going ready for her tuneup. We'll see I guess. We will have two people working so it shouldn't be all that bad.
