I searched the threads and didnt get a real good answer for my question. I am replacing my water pump and radiator, while I have the front end torn down i was going to get rid of the A/C. It hasnt worked in years and is going to cost 250$ to convert over to the new coolant. Anyhow what i need to know is are there any hoses from the A/C system that tie in with the heater core that need to be pluged up or rerouted. The hoses that concern me are ones that are near the firewall on the pass. side of the engine comp. Any help would be great.

The A/C evaporator core hoses are not connected to the heater core. They just happen to sit in the HVAC box along with the heater core.

You can remove the condensor, the receiver/drier, the lines, and if you happen to need to replace the heater core, that's a great opportunity to get rid of the evaporator core as well. Mine was already completely drained when I removed it, I just used a hacksaw to cut the lines and pull them out wherever I could.

Make sure you'll never want it. Talk about stupid.. I removed mine the first year I moved to AZ.. it was March, probably 80-90 degrees.. didn't think I'd ever need it. Boy did I regret that sitting in 110+ temps in traffic a few months later with the windows down.
