My "friend" jumped on my hood and scratched it...whats the damage?

To keep it simple my friend jumped and layed across my hood, I got out and yelled at him to get the **** off, looked at it when I got home and he had scratched the paint, not thinking too highly of him at the moment :notnice:

I'll avoid venting on here and get to the point. How much will it cost for a detail shop to fix this? (some kind of estimation) They don't appear to be deep and the quarter is for size comparison.

Thanks!

These are not related to the incident tonight, just two rust spots on my car. Wondering what it would take to fix them.

I think you might save yourself some money, and get rid of the scratchs yourself. The thing is, we don't know how deep they are. Does your fingernail hook into the scratch if you run it over? Just wondering, how the hell did he do it? Did he have one of those chains on his jeans?

I wouldn't mind doing it myself if I know its something a novice could do without screwing up. The scratches seem almost level with the rest of the paint. My fingernail does not "hook" in them. I thought for a second that they were not even scratches and something had just rubbed off but I tried cleaning one and it did nothing.

I'm not sure what scratched it - but as you said I'm assuming something on his jeans did it - rivets, belt, etc...

looks to me like they will buff out, but it is just a pic. as far as the rust, looks like you need to replace the rocker (i assume thats what the pic is showing) and might get away with a temporary patch for the other panel, but if you want it done right, you should replace that too (think expensive).

Then they should be able to buff off. If I was you I'd go back to your "friend" and kick his ass.
