Hey, searched and read a ton of threads but couldn't find the answer. I've got an '89 LX eibach pro kit and a stock h-pipe. I drag the damn convertors over speed bumps. I want to get an off road h-pipe and need to know if it'll give me more clearance or less. Threads seem to indicate X-pipes sit lower than H-pipes? Anyone know? Thanks. :flag:

Correct. The fact that it is lighter will make is less likely to sag. However, I think your problem comes with lowering springs. My old 96 GT did that. I usually just drove over the bumps sidways to give myself a little more clearance.

Thanks guys, I was hoping an off road pipe would give me more clearance and pwr! I creep over the bumps but my cats still hit sometimes. The bummer is the previous owner had the aftmkt cat back welded to the factory h-pipe so I'll prbly want to get a whole new set up so it's bolted together.

Just to warn u... My O/R H-pipe sits lower than the stock one did. I have scrapped it before, but that was on a very sudden steep driveway/curb.

It should possible still be better than an H-pipe with cats though..

just take it easy and sideways over speed bumps and such. The exact reason I wont lower my car  Been there done that when I was younger and all it did was cause problems.
