Ah yes.... The convertible is just a Notch with the top cut off of it. Ford outsourced all of the convertibles to ASC. So the doors are identical mechanically / structurally

Edit: Minus the window channel of course....
 
well my buddys got a wrecked 88 LX i wanted to grab the bumpers from and throw on my 89 GT so i can have a straight out exhaust rather then the turn-down... just wondering if that would work
 
door panels are slightly different, but still interchangeable. the upper inner dew wipe and trim is longer on the vert doors due to the side mirrors. when using 90-93 vert door panels on our 88 notch, we had to cut off that excess trim/moulding on the top inner sides of the panels to fit right. if going from a gt/notch/hatch door panel to a vert, you won't have that extra section. it probably won't be noticable though.
 
Also worth noting: If you want to take a bumper cover off a LX and put it on a GT, the part will fit. But the molding on between LX and Gt models is different. I think the GT molding is 3/4" thicker than the LX...
