I think I've abused that reliability topic enough.

Ok. So this here expensive piece of glass:

Has me wondering about some things about it.

First does anyone have one? Or know how it works? Is it a permanent see through roof? or can you actually close it with some cloth like roller system from inside. I wouldn't wanna wear sun screen to just drive one with it!!

Any idea if its interchangable with a different hardtop?

Also on a side note off topic. I didn't find a place to post this one in Support. Why does my post count say 0 still? Anyone else see that, or am I just delusional :) Kindly shed some light on this perplexed noggin of mine.

Like windshield glass, I presume this roof glass blocks 100% of the bad UV rays. Ever wonder why your transitions (light-to-dark) eye glasses don't turn dark inside of a car? Sorry - no suntan.

And I beliive the post count is the number of new threads started.

the post count only counts tech and regional posts. talk posts dont count, so that you want to contribute something constructive to the forum. talk is cheap. :rlaugh:

hmm sounds like I don't want that then. I'd like to have a moon roof installed somehow though. I'll look around I'm something exsists. This post brought up some related threads, and there are some links on a similar thread I'll look at.

The post count thing makes sense. That explains why I haven't posted anything there. I'm clueless with cars.:rlaugh: Save the easy basic stuff like oil change, tire rotation, fluids, etc.

Here are a couple other pics of it. I have seen it in person and it looks awesome. It is a giant sun roof that does not open. Unlike the other companies out there making these this one does not jeopardize the structure of the vehicle. It is still a coupe. I personally like the looks, but wouldn’t want it as a daily driver; too much sun.
> hot and expensive <

Two reasons why I won't buy this, even though it looks awesome:

1) I can't afford it.

2) It would only take one jealous ***hole with a hammer to give you an awfully expensive window repair...

not much different than a windshield. keep a low deductable an dont worry about it. one hit with a hammer to the stock roof, and its an expensive fix also.

Is the Saleen glassback roof any lighter or heavier than the stock roof in a mustang? It'd be cool if it was actually lighter therefore lowering the car's center of gravity and making it handle a little better. Then you could justify buying not only for aesthetics but performance as well :D

I seriously doubt it's lighter. Generally speaking automotive glass is not going to be lighter than sheetmetal. What I think would be wierd is the view if you rolled over. I don't think I'd really want to see the asphalt that close to my head. And if you rolled over at any speed. The grinding would just be awful to watch.
