wickedly stupid question

sorry, i dont have the answer to that question but i was wandering, do u have to use those specific plugs? i bought a pair but my motor isnt ready yet, so i havent ran it with the tw heads on. if u have ran ur car with them already, what do u think of them( performance wise)?

They WILL need to be gapped. .050" is fine for a n/a combo. The 3924's are the most common used plug for an aluminum head and very easy to get so thats why they're the most recommended.

:nonono: hmmmm...lets say hypothetically all the plugs were at .038 to .039 could that be my problem with my cold start idle?

No.

Let me guess.. You start it up cold and it wants to stall and die. You have to keep your foot in it for the first few seconds to keep it running, right? Its simple to fix with a tuning device. I had that problem once. Its a cold start lean issue.

Mine are gapped at .045. With iron heads .054 is recommended by Ford but with Autolite 24's.

Your idle hunt is not from the gap. Too much fuel usually causes cold start idle issues. The ECC dumps more fuel at cold start up's. I had the same issue with the Pro-M bullet meter and 24# injectors. Tuning is the best cure. However play with fuel and timing settings until its tolerable.

Hmmm, my bad. Since GT's use ASF-42's, which equate to a 25, I assumed a AWSF-32 would equate to a 24.

If I am wrong, I apologize for the misinformation.

Actually, from what I have experienced, once you get into bigger injector and maf combo's the eec doesn't add enough fuel on cold starts. This is why adding cold compensation fuel through our PMS's fixed our cold start issues.

Hot starts are where the eec dumps too much fuel. And pulling out cranking fuel in our PMS's fix that too :D

My car seems to be the opposite then. In the morning it surges. I take fuel out with the PMS and the hunt will stop.
