Squeaky Steering noise

Depends on the kind of squeak. My bumpsteer kit squeaks every few months or after it rains. It's a metallic sound, that metal-on-metal noise. If you've got a bumpsteer kit, try hitting the ball joint there with some WD-40.

....and a ROYAL pain in the ass to change.

I won't ever try replacing a ball joint again.

Now may be a good time to upgrade to 03/04 Cobra or other lightweight A-arms...for about $200 you get the complete A-arms with the balljoints already installed.

same problem here.. i hear sound when i try to turn my steering wheel from side to side, parked or on road. but the sound on mine sounds mechanical (not squeek). it gets louder when i totally turn my wheel on one side. My mechanic told me it's my power steering. what do u think guys???

Simple fix:
1) Buy a grease gun and grease
2) Buy the needle attachment and a rubber hose attachment
3) Squirt the ball joints full of grease by puncturing needle through ball joint boot
4) I did this in '98 and it hasn't come back yet.

My car had the same problem, it would squeek over every bump and everytime I turned the wheel. I found out it was the tie rod end. I replaced both outers and the squeek is gone. Tie rods are much easier to replace than ball joints as well. Hope this helps.
