I have a UPR off road x pipe with stock mufflers. It sounds great BUT it is too raspy, especially at around 2500 rpm's
I need someone who has an off road X pipe with aftermarket mufflers to let me know what THEIR car sounds like. I have heard opinions on the subject, and they seem to indicate that the straight through mufflers are the cure. I don't really want it to be louder, but I'll accept that as a compromise to get rid of the "rasp"
I am sure someone out there has the cure on their car, so let me know!

I have the magnaflow Axel-back and I really like it. It's not much louder than stock (kinda' disappointing) but it is much deeper.

I too am looking for an X or H pipe (preferably with cats) to liven up the car a little. I have also heard that if you want to supercharge, the X/H pipe is a must...

I started out with just the Magnaflow mufflers - deeper sound, but not very loud.

Then I added an o/r Bassani x-pipe. It became loud then, for sure. There was a rap in the pipes arounf 3K rpm which I didn't care for.

I took off the o/r legs and swapped in the CompCats and now it sounds really good. It's not super obnoxiously loud, but it'll get your attention when I get on it. I think the Magnaflows are keeping it a bit quiet still.

The best bet would probably be Bassani high-flow x-pipe and Bassani cat-back.

I may have to ditch the off road xpipe. I have heard from a few people that the cats muffle it enough to get rid of the raspy sound. An o/r xpipe is about the same price as an axle-back system anyway
