Budget (ie junkyard) 5 lug conversion to install 17x9/10.5 Bullits on 93GT

From what I understand, can I just install 94-up rotors/calipers for the front? I heard that the FRPP 5 lug conversion won't allow me to install Bullits on the front due to fitment problems with the dustcap. For the rear, what axles (Ranger?) and which sides do I need? Correct me if I'm wrong, but after it's all said and done, when replacing my brakes do I buy brake pads for the 94-up stang and the corresponding rear shoes for the (19XX) Ranger? This will have to be done over the weekend and I won't have time to go searching for parts with the car disassembled. I plan on doing this within the next 2 months.

Thanks-
Ted

this is a good one too:

also the axles off of a aerostar. just like the ranger only one side will work. Either of the above website will tell you which.

yes on the front, no on the rear. You will still be usingyour mustang rear brakes (if still using the stock drum setup). All the ranger/aerostar axles are for is the 5 lug portion. as well as the drum from either car. I believe some drums are different on those vehicles and what I think you need is the 9" drum for the mustang. again, either of the above websites will show you which you need.

EDIT***When I clicked the reply, No one had replyed yet. After BSing with a buddy of mine and finishing my post, It looks as If they have answered your questions. Hope it helps any way.

Ill strart with the rear setup first. It has to come from a 4cyl ranger/bronco2,
up to 93, left side axles. That year and engine combo has a 7.5" rear and the correct 9" drums also(the 6 cly has wider drums). You order the shoes for your car, everything is the same exept you will have 5 wheel studs instead of four. You can also use the right side axles off of an aerostar, Im not sure if they all work or just certain ones.

Yo need more than just the rotors and calipers to do the 94-04 conversion 94-95 reccomended. You will need the spindles, hub assembly, rotors, calipers/brackets, pads, and hoses. You will also need a .330" tall spacer/washer to prevent the nut on the ball joint running out of thread.
Here is a link with some good info on the front brake swap.

+1 on the BFH for spindle to ball joint removal (youll see)

I just got done with the conversion last week on my budget 89 GT drag car project. I used 2 drivers side axles/drums out of a Ranger. I just took some front rotors off a Lincoln Mark VII and they go right on your stock spindels but you might not get Bullitts to fit the front. I am using weld wheels and they should fit. I did the whole conversion for $105 using all junkyard stuff, althogh my car is strictly for the drag strip and I'm not too concerned with braking proformance, as long as they stop me.

BFH-Haha-I love it. So the Ranger uses the same diameter brake shoes on the rear drums, huh? Thanks for the replies everyone.

Some do. The rangers with 7.5" rear comes with the same 9" drums as Mustangs. Only difference is the axles and the 5-lug drum. All your drum brake parts stay the same so get shoes for a stock Mustang drum.

Rangers with 8.8's come with 10" drums. Avoid these

Ford sells the 5-lug drum kit for about $190. It comes with 2 brand new axles and 2 new drums. I found junkyards in my area wanted $75 for a 100K mile axle. I figured after buying used or new drums i would just get the kit and get all new stuff
