Ford Dropping MyColor option for the redesign

You just don't understand what a Stang is about. You need to buy a "Beemer" if you want all that other crap.:D The whole point to the new Stang was a return to the styling and performance of the 60's models but updated to modern standards of performance and handling. :nice: It just wasn't meant to be a "gee-whiz-wow" car filled with every device known to man.:nono:
So True

MyColor option is a unique feature its not found in any other car,, one of those cool features that you can always talk about when talking about your mustang. You will be excited about it the first month or so,, and then you will shift every once and while not so often, BUT who cares if you don’t shift from color to color you still have the cool feature, I keep mine on red or green, you might keep it on a different color at the end of the day your not stuck with one color you can change it. So what makes its so special, well its one of those cool features that might be useless but really fun to have, most people who don't have it might say its useless silly etc.. (well im telling you it its useless but its fun knowing you have that option.)

So is it a good option, no it’s a great one.

Note: if MyColor was released on a German car such as BMW, Mercedes etc… some of the people would are just bit ching and complaining about how its silly and useless, would have wished they had it on there car.

The sweet thing about mycolor is you don't know it's there so it really doesn't hurt the retro at all. It's not like a feature that takes up a 5X5" spot in the center console. What the hell, you can fine tune that retro green glow too :D

I agree; the mycolor feature is cool. Sure I don't mess with it much, and I haven't even tried making custom colors yet and I've had the car 10 months. Still, I like to change the color every once in a while, usually between red, blue or green.

My Color would be cool if it changed the color of all the dash displays like the radio.

Again I rather spend my money on something that improves performance or comfort.

I agree with you a 100% on this. It looks kind of funky with a blue instrument cluster and everything else is green. I think they should keep the My Color option but allow everything else to change with it. Now that would be worth paying extra for. And the green backlight ford uses now looks really outdated in these new mustangs. Kinda looks the same as my 87 5.0......

Isn't there quite a few cars that have a different color for each. I didn't even think of wanting all the lights to change the same.

I agree with everything you said. I hate the green lights too.

I read a recent interview with one of the Ford engineers and he was asked what things Team Mustang wanted but the bean counters nixed. First thing he mentioned was that they wanted MyColor for the whole dash, but the beancounters wouldn't allow it.

just the fact that i can customize instead of being stuck with one color is what i like.

i made the color i wanted so it's not about changing colors but getting the color you like.

For the guy that was asking how to get a really white white... you need more blue in your white to make it seem really white. The way to do that with mycolor is to max out the blue and then drop down the other two colors by one.

As far as the necessity of mycolor, I would say it is nothing spectacular but I enjoy it. I do end up switching my dash color once every 3 months or so because I get tired of the dash color. That makes it nice.

I played with the MyColor thing for a few minutes when I first got the car, but have left it alone since. It's one of those things that sounds good in advertising, but doesn't mean much in real life. (A lot like most of the features Microsoft has added to Office over the past few years.)

And as for modern, I mean that because the car lacks options like Navigation, XM or Sirius, i-Pod friendly radio, etc.

BTW ... Our '05 Stang has a navigation system, DVD player, Sirius satellite radio, and a Kenwood MusicKeg. :)
