This may sound like a dumb question to you late model guys but I am an early model Mustanger; as you can see by my signature; but I have a 93 Mustang Coupe that I am setting up to drag race. It came with a 4 cylinder/AOD and I am putting a 351W and C4 in it. I was looking at the Flowmaster 3" exhaust system and was wondering what is the difference between the LX system and GT system when both call out a 5.0? Which one would fit my car.

its the same thing except the gt has turndown tips and the lx has the exhaust pipes coming out. it depends on wat body kit you have the gt or the lx. in the gt you cant see the tips but in the lx you see the tips and more.

the gt bumper hangs about 1.5" lower than the LX bumper. the LX's have visible tailpipes. an LX tailpipe would make the exhaust exit right into the bumper and it wouldnt work.

if you're setting it up to drag race then why bother with tailpipes? just dump the exhaust... thats like 20 pounds of junk hanging on the car...
