I live in palatine which is very close to woodfield mall. Do any of you in Illinois know where i can find a dyno to throw my car on? I'm putting on headers and an X-pipe at the end of march and would like to get the car dyno right after that.

Thanks in Advance,

Nick

I am going to be putting on headers at the end of March, and i was told that i should get a tune. I was planning on going to speedinc. They quoted me two pulls for $90. I've never done this before so i don't know if that is what you would call getting my car tuned?

A dyno pull is just that: they will put the car on the dyno and hook up the air/fuel meter and run it a couple of times. You get a graph showing HP/Torque and air/fuel ratio. No tuning.

The may recommend some tuning changes which require them to connect the tuning device to your OBDII port that will allow them to make changes to your computer settings based on what the initial pulls indicate. This part costs more since you will also get a chip or hand held device that will save the changes made and your paying for the tuners expertise.

They will make several more pulls since the changes must be verified to see if they are correct.:flag:

I contacted speed inc and they quoted me $600 but said a tune isn't needed after headers. they said to what till i had done more mods???? Is that even a good price? it includes a chip and a tune.

that is a decent price but like they said if you havn't done anything else and just want to see the power then just spend the 90$

but i can tell you that your gonna be in the 215-225 hp range

Have you had your stang dyno'd before?

Are you planning on installing the headers and X-pipe yourself or are you paying someone?

$90 is about the standard price for 2-dyno pulls, if you keep your eyes out you might find a group or a club doing a dyno day. Which will then be around $50-60. I have put dyno days together in the past and am planning on one this spring.

The shop I have used for dyno pulls is Street Stuff in Addison.

You are a little ways from needing a tuning session, so save your money.
