Lowering Springs Help!?!?

hey guys i have an 01 gt with no suspension mods at all. money is limited but i decided that im gonna be buying lowering springs fairly soon. i was gonna buy the eibach sportlines or the eibach pro street. i recently saw a member on this forum that belongs to the "i hate my eibach sportlines club." maybe you guys could suggest a diffferent brand. all i wanna do is springs and no lower than 1.5 inches lower cause i dont wanna hafta buy the camber plates. whta is meant when they say the springs are sagging??? thanks guys.

look into the ford racing c springs I think they look great. Not too much drop and a good price at around$150.

I just put H&R supersports on my 02 and it looks great. But if you dont want more than 1.5 in drop then go with the H&R sports or FRPP C springs. The C springs would be cheaper but personally i would go with the H&R.

For those of you saying H&R SS, remember that he doesnt want to go lower than 1.5". Go for H&R Sport, C-Springs, or Steeda Sports. Don't forget to save for new shocks and struts.

I have the Eibach Sportline springs, and they look DAMN nice, although i have to admit the ride is quite bumpy.

I might suggest the Eiback PRO KIT though. The Pro kit will lower the car 1"-1.5", where the Sportline kit will lower the car 2-2.3". But other than the Eibach Pro Kit, try the Ford C springs or Steeda Springs. Just do some research on the spring hights and spring rates and see what suits ur driving style or needs.

If i had to do it again, i'd get the Pro Kit for a better ride. The sportlines were given to me free though...so i cna't complain


Also keep in mind:
- Lowering the car will put more wear and tear on your struts, and you will need new ones much faster.
- Lowering the car may break your tierod ball joints (common problem due to the increased angle at which the tie rods are moved because of the lowered vehicle). You will need to buy STEEDA's X2 Balljoint kit, designed for lowered cars.
- You MAY need a Cast and Camber kit to get a proper alignment

personally i went HR race... less drop (i measured 3/4") from my slightly sagging stock springs and have been very happy with them paired with bilsteins for ride quality. i suppose you really need to ask yourself if you want performance or looks? i dont care what my car looks like, i want the performance.... so i took the stiffer and higher stance race over the SS from HR...

in the end its your call... the HR SS goes the lowest from what i have read, but you are hurting the geometry of the suspension at that point.... though if you dont care about that, then its a moot point.

I had the Eibach Pro-Kit and sold it to a friend. They werent all that bad just wanted a lower stance so I went with the H&R Supersports. I feel that the H&R's provide a better ride but since you want around the 1.5 inch drop range I would sugegest the H&R Sports. I havent had a chance to drive with my completed suspension because my cars still off the road for the bad weather months. However my newest additions include Bilstein HD's and MM c/c plates but from what I have read I should be impressed.
Back to you!!! If you only go 1.5 inches lower you arent going to need extra parts like cc plates and new shocks like I did. Either way you go it will look better and perform better.

- You screw up the roll center as well.

Yep. dont buy steeda I put them in with out the isolators and it dropped about 2 in and now I have to do it all over again Cus i did not buy shocks to match spring rates and struts and so on now my suspesion is like crap. Makes noises and I scrape bottom all the time on everything

In time that will happen with any lowering spring. Not really an excuse to not recommend a product
