window motor bushing/gear/whatever

alright, i found the how-to on how to replace this, but i can't find the damn bushing/gear that needs replacing! i checked autozone, advance, o'riely's, even two ford dealerships and no dice . where exactly can i get this?

I got the Cardone bushing kit that Joe mentions in his write up (IIRC) from AZ. They couldnt find it - I had to provide the part number and then they ordered it. 20 bucks.

look very similar to an ear plug youwould wear while swimming....(if you have ear problems)

I agree with the ear plug description. I asked one of the more knowledgeable persons at the local autozone and he took me right to them in the help isle. Looks like a white plastic dowel pin. If you take the motor out and dissasemble you will get an idea of what they look like. It took about 10 minutes and it has been over a year.

alright, got it out, replaced the bushings--now i can't seem to fit it back in, hehe. anyone ehave any info on putting it back in? faq doesn't seem to help.

what problem are you having with fitting it back in..... it will just kind plop back in.... did you let your glass go up or down since you have had it out.....


i know most likely it wouldn't move up on its own.... but who knows

lol, i was trying to put it in w/ the gear facing towards me instead of facing towards the outside. wow, that was surprsingly easy of a fix--to think some people would take it somewhere, pay for a new motor when all it is are those stupid bushings.
