ok so routine rear brake job jacked up tire off, caliper off, and when i go to compress rear caliper.... and nothing!! YES i am using the tool to turn it in im not just pushing... but it wont turn. the tool felt funny so just to make sure i used the needle nose plyer method and still nothing.... so im going tomorow to pick up a new caliper. is this the problem?? oh also, just to be sure i disconnected the hand brake cable and cracked the bleeder valve release pressure just in case. still nothing. did i forget anything?? i didn't try the other side yet i was out of curse words and all the tools had already been thrown to the other side of the room. any help is apprecited thanks!!

:edit: this is on my 94 mustang v6

There's definately something wrong.. unless the brakes were on, the ebrake was on, or you didn't pop the master cylinder cover (or bleeder valve) it should screw back in.

Take a pair of Channel Locks and turn the piston clockwise. This will compress the rear caliper. If you have vice grips they work better.
