Difference between 65 and 67 V8 drum spindles?

Hi,

Can anyone tell me the difference between a 65 v8 drum spindle and a 67. I have a Baer brake kit I'm installing and it is the kit for 65-66 drum spindles.
As I am installing it I learn my car has 70 spindles (bigger bearings) on it. I am having a hard time finding 65-66 spindles locally. I know that the bearings are the same but I've heard that the camber is different between the two. I also have a concern about the steering arm (longer/shorter?) since I have the Baer bumpsteer tie rods also.

There are two differences. The tie rod mount hole is a bit larger on the 67 spindle, and the 67 spindle has a small difference in the steering arm geometry. The 67 has same steering geometry as 68-73 and Granada.

I suggest you keep the 70 spindles as they are very desirable and whoever put them on should have made other changes for them to work. If you change them you will probably find that tie rods and other parts have been swapped also. Just exchange your brake kit for a 70.
NPD has a limited supply of 70 spindles that are selling for $259 each! The larger bearings and sturdier spindle design is much better than earlier models.

Go figure i just threw my spindles away. I would have sold them to you pretty cheap.

If you go back to the 65/66 spindle you'll have to replace the outer tie rod. If the inner tie rod has been shortened you may have to replace that as well.

It's too late to exchange the brake kit. I guess I need to find some 65-66 spindles. I thought 67's might work, but after Danny Clemmens post, along with the uncorrectable toe in I have, I think the tie rod hole (steering arm) is in a different location on all but 65-66. I can't just change the tie rods because I already have the Baer tie rods for 65-66.
Anyone need a set of detailed 70 drum brake spindles?.......
