I have my sides tied to steel I beams that run the length of each side. The other one is attached to the garage. I did see the neighbours come loose and end up over his fence into his back yard. So it's a good idea to make sure it is anchored to something.

I had 2 of the old version Motoshades that Bi-Mart and other retailers sold. The suck and certainly don't hold any snowload at all. Had both collapse a couple years ago on my Ranchero and my fastback II when we got hit with 6" overnight in Jan 2003. I managed to assemble 1 of the wreckage and ended up buying anohter from Costco. The Costco one is AWSOME! Doesn't sweat, built 100 time better and it's been up since Feb 2003 and hasn't even shown any wear. The fastback II is still in there and 100% dry, unlike that stupid Motoshade that I had. It'd sweat and the bungees would come loose or break, the frame was really flimsy.. just not a good shade. However, I was at Bi-Mart the other day and noticed that Motoshade changed their design and it looks almost just like the Costco one i have now, except for the tarp material, it's still the same.... they must have gotten smarter.

I staked my shade into the ground with 12"x1/2" steel round-rod stakes I made. Hasn't moved an inch yet and it's been through nasty East winds, durring one week up to 40-50 mph!

The Costco one is the way to go. :nice: Well worth the $$$
