Best way to burnout...

Whats the best way to burnout and not put that much damage on the drivetrain...

i thought revving the car up and dumping the clutch, but my friend told me i dont need to do that, all i have to do is release the clutch slowly, and when it catches put my one foot on the brake pressing hard and the other on gas and just give it a lot of gas.

Let me know how you guys do it and the results after a while.

press the brake with the heel of right foot, then angle the foot and press the gas with toes to desired amount and that leaves u with the left foot just for the clutch. once the clutch is out u can transfer the left foot to the brake and the right foot to just the gas.

that sounds hard but its not, trust me.

I'm not getting into how I really do it because it depends on what I'm trying to do and what tires are on it but the easiest is rev it up and dump the clutch. Then it the brakes. But if you are trying not to hurt the drivetrain don't do one. There is always that chance.

The least damaging way would be to probably slip the tires in some sand or a little water to get them going, and then hop on the brakes and hold it. It's still going to wear the rear brakes, but you don't have to worry about dumping the clutch that way.

i like to roll my car a little bit then use the ball of my right foot to just apply enough brake to get it to stop and stay there. then use the heel of the right foot to bring it up to about 2300rpm then dump the clutch and watch the smoke pour out.

This is the burnout I came up with to destroy t5's, impress the chicka's and have the fire dept called

Put the car in reverse get the car rolling backwards about 2-5 MPH , stand on the brakes with the heel of your right foot , clutch with your left , use toes of right foot to mash the gas , use your left hand to hold on , your right hand to come thru the gears .

Once the car is rolling backwards , drop it to first mash the gas , hold the brakes and see how far thru the gears you can go before the brakes ( or tranny ) give up ....

This is called the staunton river burnout ( named after my high school )
You may brake sevral parts doing thsi but it puts on one heck of a smoke show

Why are people so into burnouts. I have done a few around friends leaving places, but it proves nothing. I have done them in tons of different vehicles...

As far as what the original poster said, if you dont rev it, your going to hurt something. You have to break the tires loose. There are really two ways to do it...

1) Rev to desired RPM and dump the clutch. Quickly move your left foot from the clutch to the brake. Apply the brake until the car stops moving.

2) Right foot heel on the brake, toe on the gas. Rev it and dump the clutch. This done right the car shouldnt move.
