yeah so I might have to get a new roof for my car because the paint keeps cracking and my painter has repainted it twice already. It was nice out so I decided to take some pics. If someone could photoshop t-tops or a sun roof on my car that would be awesome, not sure if I'd like either. Well here you go!

No I don't think it's the painter. I kind of put the body of this car through hell and the roof needed a lot of repair work. He took it all the way down to metal and everything but it still won't stick. He paints cars for a living and he doesn't know why it won't stick. Anyway do you guys think it would look better with a sun roof or t-tops?

 I love those flames, How did he do that? Tell him to come paint mine like that except in black on black. T-Tops would look awesome on your car , but finding some may be really hard to do. I don't know if they make t-top kits or not but i know they make targa top kits and that would be cool and different as well.

A. Roof is dented from high powered launches
B. Don't Launch fast when paint is curing
C. Wait 30 days (I know it's hard)
D. Find a set of subframe ties

Niiiiiiice ghost flames dude! 10!!!:nice:

First off I really like the fiberglass cowl. I got it off of ebay and it was called a street heat cowl. The guy who painted my car said that it was really easy to prep and paint. As for the 4 lug saleen replicas I got them somewhere off the internet. I saw the ad for the company in either 5.0 mustang magazine or muscle mustangs magazine. I believe the company was oem direct or something like that. And thanks for all the compliments. The flames were done with a blue pearl over the base coat before the clear.

Do any of you guys with a sun roof or t-tops wish that you didn't have them. Also do they have a tendency to leak a lot if all of the weatherstripping is replaced? And by the way thanks for the t-top photochop, it looks pretty cool.

i have a sunroof and i despise it. i thought it was cool when i got the car, and its a quality piece, but now its a nusiance. its tinted but the light still bugs me, it leaks even after i siliconed the whole thing shut. i wouldnt do a sunroof. t tops would be pretty sick, but i would do a cage if you go that route.

tell your painter to try a diffrent primer or a better primer. Some (I'm not saying him) painters cheap out on primer cause they think all primer is the same but it's not it's like every thing else you get what you pay for.

Yeah I don't think it's the primer either. We were really suprised by how much the primer cost that he bought to do the car. We thought the walmart stuff was good enough, boy were we wrong. We went with him to pick up the paint and primer so we know it wasn't cheap stuff. Yeah I like the idea of t-tops but it might be a pain finding a roof with them. After hearing about all the leaking problems I may just stay with the regular roof. As for who said I should get a cloth top :nonono: I can't think of an uglier new trend. I really can't stand the cloth tops.

If you do a sunroof you will have to find a way to plumb the 4 drain holes. I have a sunroof and I dont care for it but it doesn't bother me either. Mine doesn't leak but I have to blow compressed air through the drain hole lines every 6 months or so to clear out dirt. I also have a big plastic cover on mine, I know it came on early 4-eyed sunroof cars but I have never seen one on anything areonosed or even 84-86s, and I know these covers are very hard to find.

I would find a different painter. Im not doubting the guy you're using now is good, but maybe someone else knows something he doesn't.

I have loved my sunroof since I got it. The place I had it done in arlington did an unbelievable job. I got an electric one that slides on the outside. It came tinted heavily, and it has the little slide cover below it. The cool thing is that it has vents on the back of the cover so you can pop up the sunroof a little and have the cover closed and still get air. They also did all new headliner with the button to operate it. Did a nice job, and that was 4 years ago, never had one drop of water come in through it. -J
