Question about MIL eliminators

I have recently ordered an 06 GT (will be ready for pick up in May). One of the first mods that I plan is for long tube headers and a X or H pipe (looking at MAC right now). My questions is do I need MIL eliminators? If so, where can I get them for an 05/06? Additionally, I have been doing some reading in other discussions about people having problems on earlier model mustangs with the check engine light coming on even after installing the MIL eliminators. Is this common? I have already ordered a Diablo Predator tuner. Will I need to reflash for the installation of new exhaust? If anyone can help, please do. I am new to all of the emissions stuff.

its wise to retune with almost every mod cause just about anything will throw off the AF and you will see a nasty little CEL on your dash.

you can always just turn off the rear sensors in the tune and eliminate them all together.

You can get the Steeda MILs through Brenspeed. I have the C&L with the pretador and it will not turn off the rear banks. Never heard of just removing them all together, the computer doesnt compair the levels in the rear sensors with the ones in the front? Sounds like you would get a CEL with that. Whatever you do just remember that a Off road X pipe will be very raspy, mine was almost undrivable, sounded like he** the Off road H is the way to go and you can also get on from Brenspeed for 170.00

I just turned my rear O2's off with my SCT; works perfect. After I installed my longtubes, my A/F was 13.2:1 before I adjusted the fuel, so the recalibration stuff isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

From my understanding, the Spanish Oak doesn't actually compare the front & rear O2's. The rear O2's job is only to monitor catalytic converter temps for emissions; if the converters get hot, the rear O2's tell the ECU to dump more fuel. So no cats = no use for rear O2's. This is just what I've read in numerous places, but it makes sense.

Thanks for all of the help. Just removing the rear sensors does seem to make sense. It'll be several weeks before I can try it out. I'll post back with the results. By the way, just ordered MAC long tubes and O/R H pipe. (They sure don't make anything inexpensive for the 05/06's do they?)

If you do just remove them, make sure you use a tuner to turn them off or you will get a code.

You are correct, my CEL came on today with the Steeda MILS, cleared it with the predator and it has not came back on yet. Maybe I need a custom tune.
