Ok, here's the deal, I don't want to go back to an o/r h or x-pipe setup because of the exhaust smell, but since I have my stock h-pipe back on, I was wondering how much louder the exhaust would be if I cut the 2 rear cats off. Any idea?

Do yourself a favor and save up for a catted x-pipe. If you want to know how it sounds, watch the vid in my sig. I have a magnaflow catted x and CB system. Honestly I don't think it's even worth the trouble to do what you're talking about. You won't get much of power or sound gain out of it.

Do not chop your stock H. You may need it someday and you won't like the pricetag for a new one.

Your efforts may seem like a good idea, but many people have done this and later regretted it. Save for the proper equipment in order to be satisfied.

A catted H or X will suit you quite fine.

I wouldn't chop up your stock H either.. you'd probably end up with more problems then you started with.

The smell isn't so bad, I barely notice it now days. If I stand behind the car while it's on and then turn it off and go somewhere I can still smell it on my clothes or whatever, but the people I'm with usually don't mind or notice lol

I think that's what really bothered me the most, when I got to work or the mall, movies, etc and got out of my car you could smell exhaust on me, and I didn't want to smell something like that at a dinner table :notnice:

But other than that, I loved the sound the o/r x-pipe made with my flowmasters, now I just want a little more noise than the stock h-pipe gives with them. It sounds too boring now:bang:
