Anyone running WMS ramair kit??

Just reading over the product. Looks like a great design and very promising. The idea behind it seems very sound, cooler air make more power. Dont know anyone personally that has one though. The design also looks cool under the hood. If I had a 05-06 GT, I would put one in mine.

I like the looks of it. The only thing i dont like is the holes cut in the radiator shroud. It seems to me there is already a vibration problem with the hood. At speed those holes allow air to "pressurize" around the intake. It looks like it will apply upward force on the front of the hood.
Anyone else thinking along those lines?

Here's part of an email response from WMS:

The Cervini's hood will not create ram air with our system as the
openings are not in the correct place. RK Sport does make a hood that
would work, it has openings in the very front of the hood like the
original concept car. Really though I don't think a hood will make
much difference. There is so much air coming in to our ram air box
from the grill on these cars that more is not really needed.

You do not require a tune with our 80mm intake. Now the engine will
make more power with a tune but its not needed to run properly with our
intake. We do have tunes with our intake for Diablo and just
releasing SCT tunes too. Many of the intakes on the market do need a
tune as they are duplicating the stock intake setup and just make it
bigger - this needs a tune for proper calibration.

I'm also planning on buying this intake but I just gotta come up with the money... Of all the new intakes it def looks the coolest. I remember reading a bunch of info on it at the brad barnet mustang forums.

It looks like the Ram air tray is not in the picture on brenspread... Is there any reason why?

They're probably selling it without the tray. WMS's site has it with or without the tray. I wouldn't get it without the tray, though.

So, has anyone installed this? I'm cuious to hear soem thoughts on it.

I did the wms intake without a tray for now. there are gains and it does work and look good. No tune needed on my automatic and my wife picked up on it being faster right away.

I got the complete system

Yes I have purchased the WMS system with the Black Box and installed it on a 06 mustang with a cervini hood. the installation took about 4 hours since I am not mechanically inclined but I am extremely satisfied with the performance. I also installed a new tune which added the WMS intake for the proper settings. I am getting up to 28MPG on the highway and 22 in the city with a Gt. I am very satisfied and I recommend it specially with the box. If you can get it I would recommend a computer tune but its not required..
Hope this helps

I installed the full system with air box a week ago. I love it. It also took me about 4 hours to install, but I've heard of others doing it in about 1.5 hours. I took my time to make sure I did everything right. It doesn't require a new tune, and there is no mention of using any kind of insulation under the air box. The air box simply replaces the stock plastic radiator shield.

I haven't noticed any issues with the hood due to any additional pressure being directed up at the hood. I really don't think it is pushing that much air to cause any concern.

You do have to move the radiator overflow tank to the location of the stock airbox. This was actually very easy with the supplies in the package. Lengthening the mass airflow wiring was also very easy with the supplied kit.

The system looks wonderful installed. Looks like it comes stock. Now, I'm looking forward to getting a Saleen SC installed, and see if it works with the ram air system. It looks like it will, since the Saleen SC works with the stock intake box.

I would highly recommend this product for anyone who is considering it already.

Good luck.

Guy at a Mustang show last Saturday had the Saleen blower and the WMS CAI & Ram Air box installed and it looked like it fit together perfectly.

Thanks for the update on that. I am so looking forward to getting the Saleen SC. Now, I just need to justify the cost among all the other bills I have right now.

** EDIT **

I just posted some pics after installation. There on another forum. Tried posting them here, but size limitations were hit, and it was too much trouble to size them yet again. Here you go.
