Nah...bet I've been into Mustangs since before you were born...and have owned more as well! Never had a GM product until the GTO, which is an incredible piece of Australian worksmanship...just happens to be a GM subsidiary, rather than a Ford.

I really did find this funny...someone obviously had way too much $$$ sitting around. Why not a forged 4 valve 5.4 mod w/ a KB blower? I just wish KB had a setup for my goat...

And the folks on LS1Tech.com found that car quite funny...which is where I heard about it and thought I'd share it with you.:)

What is the "I bleed Ford Blue" attitude all about. I see it in one form or another from all camps. What causes people to have such fierce allegiences with a certain make or model? The manufacturers are just business that are out to separate you from your money. Buy, build or modify whatever you like.

A few weekends ago I had a toothless redneck tell me I had to have balls to drive my GMC truck to the "All Ford" swap meet. WTF?

I am with mtbdoc on the lsx motors. They are awesome, hands down the most bang for your buck.

PS - The car in the link is just stupid, for more reasons than just a GM motor in a new mustang.

I'm not sure as to how when I was born or how many Mustangs I've owned is even relevant in any shape, form, or fashion to your post. If it matters, I was born October 27, 1972, and I've only owned one Mustang, which is a 1965 coupe that I've had since I was 15. I've done substantial work to the car, but never dreamed of putting a Chevy engine in it. I don't have to be 50 years old or have owned 15 Mustangs to get the point that you currently prefer LSx engines; you've made that perfectly clear yourself.

With that being said, maybe I came off a little harsh because, IMO, you seem to want to push our collective buttons regarding the LSx engines. If I'm possibly reading you wrong, then please enlighten us, especially me. It seems to me that you don't have much in the way of a budget, so why are you resisting going with a Dart block or the like so much? Are you seriously arguing that a Dart block is not sufficient, or do you really think you can put a LSx engine in significantly cheaper?

I'm really not trying to be an ass here, but it seems to me that you are only trying to create controversy, so don't be surprised when you get it to a certain extent. There is absolutely nothing that an LSx engine will do that a properly set-up Ford based engine won't do, especially in a Ford car. However, if you just want an LSx engine, then go ahead. Its your car; just don't expect the majority of us to applaud your decision.
