For some reason 2 1/2 quarts is in my head but thats not why i'm posting. I have a TA cover and had one of the load screws back out on me while i was driving and had no clue. I park on blue stone at work and didn't notice the leak. As i was driving home my rear started humming so i pulled over to check it out and noticed i was missing one of the bolts :( It cost me a rear and a set of gears. No biggie since I wanted to upgrade to an Auburn pro and 31 splines anyway. Its just one more thing i check on a regular basis.

I can't remember how much oil, but I have the TA girdle, and one thing to watch since you are lowered is the clearance. I have the steeda competition springs and I'm lowered almost 2 inches and the girdle was hitting the spare tire sump in the bottom of the trunk. I beat a bigger dent in it to keep it from bottoming out.

wow, i had no idea that was a problem. how bad is the dent? can you still fit a spare tire in there? do you ever bottom out on the ground? what about it hitting the swaybar? i have an aftermarket steeda adjustable swaybar. i didnt even think about clearance issues.

I don't really bottom out on the ground, I scrape my exhaust on speed bumps if I go over them too fast. The only time the girdle seemed to hit was at highway speed on hard bumps or places where the pavement changed height on the interstate. It took a while to figure out what it was because I could not reproduce it by bouncing on it. I noticed it where it was hitting when I was changing my fuel filter. I just used a hammer and a small piece of pipe to beat it back a little farther the dent is probably about an inch and a half deep and about 3 inches in diameter. The spare tire still fits with no issues. Where it hits is not dead center on the pumpkin so you might just want to wait to se if you have the problem first, and then after the first time it bottoms out, you will be able to see the marks it left and know where to beat it in some.

I'll have to keep an eye out for that. I have had the TA cover on for like 5 years but most of the time with stock springs. I also have the steeda springs but have only driven about 500 miles since i installed them a year ago.

it is a bit over 2. I think less than 2.5 though.

I used royal purple as they made a 75-140 with modifier in it. make sure you get friction modifier as well. you need 4 oz of it. some will tell you to slowly add it tell the chattering goes aways I would just add all 4oz as I am lazy.

I have a t/a cover and am down 1.75 and the cover does not hit anywhere but the springs are progressive.

2 bottles rp all u need..and a good oil pump
im still getting different amounts. the overall consensus seems to be that 3quarts is enough though. maybe Mike could chime in and settle this once and for all. :D
