HID + Projectors and pictures of my new installed HIDs

Oh, and do the math in your head: $350 for the projector housings + $300 for a complete HID kit = $650 for a cutoff line. I'll save the $350 and have no cutoff.

I can still see 100x more than I could with Silverstars and I get compliments on my HIDs all the time. Even my parents who both have Infiniti's with HIDs like mine over theirs.

Would you know by any chance that if I had purchased those projectors, can I just buy H1 and H3 HID bulbs and use my existing ballasts and igniters?

Yea, that should work. As long as it's the same brand. I'm sure you could just contact any reseller and they can answer that for you. I think new bulbs are $150 or something near that. So $500 just for a cutoff line. and idk how I like the lights on our white stangs tbh

Is that even a Mustang?? (the car with the sharp cut-off line?)

I'd spend the money on projectors if they didn't look so but ugly.

Make them look like a factory light housing and remove the bars over the turn signal and maybe i will like em.

These are 6500k, also the stock mustang lights are NOT projectors- they are reflective. i don not believe it is possible to get the cutoff line with the reflective type lights, one would need projectors.

I ordered those halo projectors.. and am not satisfied.

The ligjt output from the h3 lowbeam is NOTHING, its SO dim.. it has a great cut off though, almost perfect. But as far as quality of light and brightness.. yeah its terrible. Looks wise, it looks great I think..

but as far as "use" it sucks.

I'm not so sure if that's a Mustang.. In fact, i'd be 99% sure it's not, I think it's an Audi or something of the sort.. But it does look great!

I just don't see the justification in spending that much money on those lights, unless that's what you want. I'd rather spend my dough on go-fast parts and tires :) haha.. but i'm sure i'll get some of those lights down the road, they look soooooooooooooooooooooo good

That image is not a Mustang... But the cutoff is perfect.

That is my point... Proper HID kits like this on the S2K look perfect, and function with a purpose.

Read this too. Gobs of good info.

How about finding some projectors from an OEM type of headlight housing from another car, and retrofitting them INSIDE an OEM headlight housing??

Then you get a stock headlight, sharp cutoff line and no ricey look

Where did you mount the ballasts/igniters? I have them sitting by my air filter and battery... I can't find a good place to mount them.

I mounted one on the battery and one right by the filter like you did. Theres really no other good spots for them, at least from what i saw. no problems yet!

If you have the projectors that I have, then it is legal. I have seperate hi beam lights, so when I get my HID's, I'll use that for the low beam and still be able to use my seperate hi beams..

Here's another pic of my car:

i don't have the HID kit yet, because I don't know a good place to get them. I might just buy the one they have at Mustangtuning.com I heard they are perfect for our cars.

Well technically HID retrofits on a car not originally equipped is illegal anyway. It's just that doing it with the proper projectors is doing it the right way.

Only way an HID retrofit could be legal is if HID's were available on that car and you used the factory kit. In other words if you wanted HID's on your 05+ Mustang, you'd have to use OEM Saleen parts. Anything else would be illegal technically.
