Cold air intake???

Theyr not all the same actually. A true CAI will dip under the fenderwell and get its source of air in the best place possible meaning away from the engine. Most CAIs wont dip down and although theyl increase power they wont do as much because they let in hot air as opposed to cool dense air. If you wanna get a true CAI i know BBK makes one for a v6. its what ive got nd it works pretty well :nice:

Naaaaahhhhhh, Don`t waste $150-200 on a BRAND name CAI, get one from E-bay just like zincyellow03 said.......I got mine from E-Bay and it works perfect-sounds deeper since I installed the CAI .If you wanna add power just get some gears 4.10 or underdrive pulleys etc for the extra cash you gonna have left over rather than spending it on CAI from K&N,BBK .......That`s just my Opinion

yea i looked it up on ebay. found a CAI with K&N filter for bout $100 and found another with the regular filter for bout $65. im might get the one with the K&N filter like zincyellow said. thnx yall

BAM! There you go ... MAC Cold Air Kit for the V6 ... it may not be any better performance wise than anything off of Ebay ... but it sure looks better :)

I got a mac, whistles like mad, gives a better throttle responce more than anything, but gains are minimal, maybe 3rwhp, but they really don't show until you have a good amount of work without turbo or supercharger.

hey zero culture.. to install that CAI did u have to cut a hole in the inside fender or did you put in the filter from under the car? I had to cut a hole and I was just wondering if there was an easier way to do it

It's easy if you can put the car on ramps, or jack the front end up, then pull the fender well lining out some and you can fit the filter through. That's how I installed mine.

Yeah, it's mostly for the name that you pay for, and also much of the time the Ebay ones are made of plastic compared to the metal many of the name brands are (besides K&N, you pay $100 for each letter lol). There are really no benifits between the different brands, the fenderwell intakes all give the same. Now for some cars, the intake can be extremely restrictive, the V6 Mustang intake isn't that bad designed for a stock, quiet setup, but if you plan on having a built NA motor without turbo or supercharged, then a CAI is needed to supply the air for things like nitrous, H/C/I, ect kits.
