91 Octane problems

Hey guys,

I am having some problems with the crap 91 octane gas that we can get around here in Regina. I know I have heard WOT mention where to get TORCO products, and would really appreciate if he told me again. Now other than going to a full on Race fuel what other "quality" options do I have for increasing the octane of my fuel. I am having a small problem with pinging that I would really like to clear up.

Thanks

John give James a call @ JBT Distributors 781-0099

He usually stocks Accelerator if he doesn't have any he can get it in a few days. I was running just enough to make 93 octane and never heard any detonation.

After I get the car back together I will be ordering by the case.

Thanks guys, that helps alot :nice:

Joe, thanks for the info, I really want to try that TORCO stuff out.

Russ, I may have to go to some sort of a Race fuel blend depending on what I find that my octane needs to be, I am hoping that 95 should do it.

Ian, I have heard bad things about Hi Power cars and enthanol blended gasoline, I was going to steer clear of that stuff if I could.

Hopefully with this I can get the pinging issue delt with and really get on it and test my car out, I just passed 1000k, so the motor should be good and broke in by now! :D

How much is this stuff? I am thinking I will get my TBird tuned to run 94 Octane if this stuff really works.

He was charging me 20 a bottle. I would put in 8oz per tank. That was enough to raise the octane from 91 to 93. At that rate I was able to get four fills from a bottle. Ijust wish you could buy it in bigger quantities.

You can make up to 107 octane but that only treats 5 gallons.

Thank you, I am going to look into getting some of this.

I was using Toluene in the car the first year the blower was on. I didn't have any detonation but had to use a lot more of it to get the octane up. A 5 gallon drum is like $80 and I had to use at least a gallon per fill up to make the octane go to 93.

Accelerator is way cheaper and you can cart it around in your trunk.:nice:
