2.5" exhaust with the GT valance panel?

I've done it with 2.25" exhaust with VERY LITTLE ROOM on the driver's side gas tank area. I also have 2.75" exhaust tips running through a gt valance.

If it will help...I will try to have a picture up and measurement soon (at least as a reference for 2.25" setup).

I have 2 1/2" pipes running to my 3" chrome tips. The tips go entirely through the stock GT holes.

Although I do not pics of the gas tank at this time, I can tell you that the driver's side 2 1/2" pipes are real close at the rear of the tank. I had the exhaust fabbed (bent up some flowmaster tailpipes.) The passenger side has plenty of room so no problem there.

When I got my car back from the shop, the driver's side was barely 1/8" from the tank. What I did afterwards was clearance the tank using a pry bar. The tank bends very easily once you get the right angle. Now I have closer to 1/2" of clearance. Future plans when I repaint this winter are to mark the tank, remove it, and use a pipe and a hammer to make a nice clean, rounded, channel for additional clearance.

Anyways, here's a shot of the 3" chromies through the valance:

I ran 2 1/2" back to the area between the framerails where it reduced to 2 1/4" due to the tight fit between the framerail and the gas tank as I wanted a flexible mount. I know others maintained 2 1/2" all the way through but I believe had to use a solid mount.

Thanks guys. Still hoping for a undercar picture though. I've checked with 2 local (reputable) exhaust shops and one will only do it with 2" and the other dents the fuel tank with a pipe. I was hesitant to do that with my brand new tank but that may be the only way. Do you think it would look ok?
I saw (and heard) a Magna Flow 2 1/2" kit yesterday and it is pretty impressive for the money (I can get it through work for about $325) and it is supposed to fit the GT valance or will turn down. I'll also watch 65popred289's post from yesterday and see what he comes up with.

Here are the 2.25" pics near the drivers side/gas tank:

There is probably a little less than 1/2" of clearance between the gas tank and exhaust (no modification to gas tank).
