Apparently someone is not satisfied with the vehicle I have chosen to drive. As I was leaving school, I saw this paper(see picture below) on my windshield. I thought it was pretty funny.

Haha thats funny. A few days ago I pulled up to a light next to a lady in her hybrid prius or whatever those crazy toyota people make and she gave me the meanest look. You know, that smug look like "You're car is killing the environment" so I gave her a nice rev and took off while laughing. Crazy environmentalists. I'm here to have fun not be the only 19 year old with a hybrid.

Too bad you didn't see her do it. Then you could have given her the note back and said you like to torture animals and women also.

I love when people try to impose their morals on you.

I should have told her, "stop waisting paper on stupid notes, think of the poor trees"

The V8 Mustang's fuel economy is no worse than the other 80% of the other vehicles out there on the roads. And it is not cars it is the fuel source - fossil fuel that is the real enemy. We need to switch to combustible fuel sources that can be produced and consumed with *far* less environmental impact.

In one possible scenario for instance, Ethanol is produced (harvesting, milling, refining and delivery to the pump) using Ethanol as the fuel source for this process. Besides grain and switchgrass, many orgainc waste products are candidates for making Ethanol. The US produces many thousands of tons of sawdust and wood chip waste ever year. A prime candidate for making Ethanol. It can produced and consumed "locally", avoiding the need for long pipelines or long tankers journeys. This way an alomst completey closed carbon loop is achived where we're introducing very little additional CO2 into the atmosphere, greatly reducing global warming effects. Bruning fossil fuels by contrast means were taking those large carbon deposits from undergorund and setting them free into the atmosphere - in vast amounts; hence the greenhouse effect and global warming.

Global warming is reality but to combat it we need real world, practical solutions starting - yesterday, not knee jerk reaction like 'Destroy all cars'.

This means spending money on research & development for better engine technolgy, more imortantly, making alternative fuels a national / global priority. The politicos on either side aren't gonna get serious about starting America down the road to energy independence unless we, Joe Public start pressuring them hard to do so. ****, there is going to be big money to be made along the way by becoming a world leader in clean, eco-friendly fuel technology, so don't anyone whine that it will cost to much money. That's bull**** and not nearly as much as it'll cost taxpayers to repair the damage from all the tornados, floods, droughts and crop failures that are comming down the pike with the global climate changes that go with global warming. Hurricane Katrina type catastrophies are going to happen a lot more often if don't start repairing the damage we've done to our planet already.

I like my V8 muscle car and I want all of our kids to be able to grow up in world that isn't s a spolied, runined ****hole - we can have both if the will is there and we all take the problems we're facing as a planet seriously.

The best is when I got a note on my diesel truck saying I cause global warming, which, if they knew anything about diesel it's completely false. Gas vehicles produce much more Carbon Dioxide and Carbon Monoxide than diesel vehicles do, which is the cause of global warming. It would help if these enviromentalist actually read up on what they are talking about.:rlaugh:

Yep, there are uninformed folk on both sides of the debate who need to slow down, take a few deep breaths and read the current, unbiased scientific research conducted by scientists who have nothing to gain before regurgitating parrot fashion what they heard someone else say.

Oh and another cause of global warming besides increased output of CO2 from vehicles and power plants is very large scale deforestation from logging and construction - e.g. as is happening in the Amazon and other large forest areas in the US... trees (along with other large plants) play in an important role in that that they absorb CO2.

I Think She's Trying to break the Ice

No, No, No. You’ve got this all wrong. Dude, you need to whip out your female decoder ring. Here, I’ll translate it for you:

Note: “You are killing the environment”
Translation: “I have a major crush on you”

Note: “you should be ashamed of yourself”
Translation: “I’m ashamed that I’m too shy to approach you”

Note: “It’s still a nice car”
Translation: “I’d look great in the passenger seat”

Note: “just think of the poor ozone layer”
Translation: “you make me hot”

hahah... just what I was thinking. My response to that would be "Quit being so concerned with what my car does to the ozone layer, and start concerning yourself with how many trees the hello kitty people killed making that fruity paper of yours!" well fruity isn't my thought for it, but I wish not to say what I really think in pg msg board.
