I'll do my best to keep the site posted on what's happening this year. The most significant is adding a go-kart night on Tuesday night (for those showing up earlier in the week) and changing the location of drag night to a local 1/8 mile track not far from North Myrtle Beach. This track is reportedly being renovated and we will keep a close eye on it as the year progresses to make sure we have a good location. Rockingham as a nice 1/4 mile track but it is quite a distance away from the beach.

Lots of motels gave us discounts last year and we expect to see the same this year. The Raddison has been bought out by Sheraton and we are working out deals with them. Just mention MustangWeek for the discounts if you want to stay there. I don't know specific prices right now but this is available if you're interested. The Convention Center is several blocks off Business 17. If you want ocean front, this place isn't what you want.

For those who have not been to MustangWeek before, it's hot in July at the beach. Come prepared.

I'll be glad to try to answer any questions you may have. Hope you can join us this year and have a good time.

MustangWeek has a simple theme. It's about having fun with your family and your Mustang at the beach.

If you are interested in going and staying with other Mustang enthusiasts visit our thread at BadMustangsClub.com in the events section for a hotel discount at The Polynesian Tell them Donna sent you.

Look forward to seeing everyone at MW 2006. :nice:

I am from the Myrtle Beach area and sounds like the meet will be pretty fun. Unfortunately I live in Texas now though so I am not close and don't beleive I will drive all the way to SC for the meet but it would be fun. Who knows, I might be able to. I still have family in the area.
Anyways...
I beleive there is a track up across the border near Whiteville NC. Its about a 45 minute cruise up highway 9 from Cherry Grove then to hwy 701 North, unless they closed it since I was there last.

I can't remember the track or even if it was "near" Whiteville but never mind. Come to think of it, I think we would just find an empty road and "run-em" he he he...I had an old 72 Pontiac Catalina with a 400SB "the brown barge" ugliest car on the planet...

hey dude, yeah your right on cue about the track in whiteville,nc. actually you can take 904/905 and be at the beach in 30 minutes, but anyways, i have talked with rod about the track in whiteville and it kinda fell through. it could not hold the amount of mustangs that attend the track event especially if it could be moved closer to myrtle. hope your able to come down for the meet, it has gotten better ever year. also glad someone else knows where whiteville is.:flag:

mustangweek

for all that are wondering and have never been, i highly recommend that you go. you will be very satisfied if your a mustang nut like i am. the staff for mustangweek puts on one hell of a week with events and, well, just come down and see for yourself. as far as drag strips go, there are commercials popping up on at least 3 or 4 of the local radio stations announcing the opening of the track in april, which is by the way about to end:rolleyes: . and on the commercial they DO ANNOUNCE THAT THEY WILL BE 1/4 MILE BY EARLY 2007:hail2:. all i can say is that is just going to make it even better, just think about it, 2 hr. ride to rockingham or 20 minutes to n. myrtle beach dragstrip? hmmm?
