Powerdyne kit

I dunno man. Sounds like a great deal but the guy only has 14 responses and not a powerseller. Plus he's way out in CA so you can't get him by the neck if he don't send the goods..

The powerdyne kits are nice for a street daily driven car. They are belt driven internally instead of gears so you dont have to tap the pan. If you ever want to get serious into the power game though, IMHO those wont make the power you'll want. They are for stock cars/trucks looking for a moddest power gain. Spend the money once and never look back.

(I sell these kits at work, so I have dealt with both powerdyne and vortec. GET THE VORTEC if you wanna make big power...)

I have heard the same...what kind of goals do you have for your car?

Green5.0, sorry , youre right, I shoulda checked the archives.

Anyway thanx for youre input.
i wasnt trying to criticize, so no need for the apology. just figured that since my rant about powerdyne blowers is rather long that i would just link ya to the threads containing my posts rather than typing it all out again. ;)

to make it short and sweet, powerdyne blowers as was said are good for making some added power on a stock car but on a h/c/i car or one with more cubes the bd11a just cant keep up. you can overspin the blower to 11psi or so (9 is the max recommended), but aside from the increased risk of the internal belt breaking you will never make the power that an s-trim, procharger, or novi2000 will make at the same boost level due to the bd11a being able to flow considerably less. with that out of the way, the tensioner system outright sucks and tightening it is a royal pain. the convenience of not needing an oil supply doesnt even begin to compensate for the rest of the powerdynes shortcomings in my opinion. you can find a used s-trim with all the necessary supporting stuff for about the same as what you can get a new bd11a for and that blower will give you quite a bit of room to grow. wow, i guess that didnt end up being so short after all. at any rate, good luck with whatever you choose and keep us up to date with your project. :nice:

im thinking of a powerdyne myself. I dunno ive always been wary of buying used blowers cause u never know how they have been taken care of and esp in my case if i buy one itll prolly have to be someone who lives pretty far off from me so if somethign happens im jsut screwed. All im looking or is about 350-375rwhp and ill be fnie this is my daily driver. Powerdyne does have a 3 year warranty also so i think if i do go with a blower itll prolly be one of those.

well, if you do go with the powerdyne, i hope you have better luck with it than i did. just my opinion from having had both, that the vortech is the way to go hands down.
